I would like to know the answer to this too - I just took a vacation, so I feel more motivated than before I left
I think about the money that I will make, and what I want/need/should buy with that money. For example, I want to buy plane tickets to FL to visit some old friends, but I need money to do that. I also need to get a new couch and want to get a treadmill-therefore I need to work.
reading sales books may also help you, I am currently reading "Think & grow rich" by Napolean Hill and I have definitely been more motivated lately.
oddly enough reading posts here on stripperweb sometimes works for me.
well..sometimes if you don't work that much, you get out of "work mode." it sounds weird...
but i thought that i'd be very much IN work mode after cutting down my schedule to only two nights per week. i figured that i would not have any chance of burning out, and i would always go in wanting to make the most out of those two nights since those were my ONLY 2 nights. boy, was i wrong.
i have never gone home early so much!
as for motivating urself, try the rewards game. give urself something that u really want the next day (pedicure, massage, etc..whatever u like) if you make your goal. set ur goal high.
different things work for different people.
usually your state of mind before you even start working is important. if you have a negative attitude, you won't do as well, most likely...as i'm sure you know. for me, personally...i make a game of it. i push myself to go up to everyone...at least lately (meaning in the past 2 weeks lol)
This is the bible for making money and is on the top of our suggested reading list. One good suggestion is to get this on Audio CD and listen to it in your car on the way to work!Quote:

Start setting small benchmarks for you to hit and have fun with. For example, get a legal pad and make a list of benchmarks and rewards. So for you hitting $500 in a night, you get a reward of a DVD or CD you've been wanting. For $600 you get a pedicure that week, and so on. Make the benchmarks achievable and yet a bit of a challenge also. Also don't reward yourself for getting close to the mark because then you are self-defeating yourself. If your benchmark was $700 and you get a massage for that but you only made $685.00 it doesn't count. Start having fun with dancing and think less of it as work and more of it as a game and you'll get better results. Just play the game better!
I think i need something i can post in my locker to remind me. .. . the benchmark thing sounds good. And i did subscribe to the dancerwealth biweekly!!!
I acutally just got back from a 2 week vacation to Fl. now im trying to get back into the grove.... lol bank account looks icky from the trip but i had a blast
Just remember all you need is one good customer to make some money.
Remind yourself of this often. Even more often when it is slow.
Tell your self that in the very least you can go have fun. You are in a bar after all, and you could be home sitting on your butt. So get up and go find some one to chat with. Tell funny stories about working , your kids or messed up family. Be open to fun and you will have fun.
Don't worry about how much money you are making. I know this can be hard ; but thinking about it while you are working can bring you down. The time to worry is when your shift is done. Be upset about it when you get home not before.
At the very least getting up on stage is good exercise. So go make the most of it and have some fun.
A dancer will make more money when she is having fun and enjoying herself. Customers can tell when your enjoying yourself. They can also tell when you don't want to be there.
I have a whole heap of sales (semi-motivational) information printed out that I take with me to the club. When I feel I need a little boost, I go read some or all of it then find something I can try to use (experiment as such). If I need a break longer than 10 minutes, then I read my "Wealth Creator" magazine or any magazine that is 'wealth/business' orientated (NOT gossip mags or any novels).
Prior to going to the club, I work out how many private/lap dances I need to sell to reach $500. For instance, when I work in Melbourne at my fav. club my min. is to sell 3x $70 dances and 6x$50 dances or 5x $70 and 4 x $50 to as few customers as possible (encourage repeat dances). At other times, I may just aim to make my minimum of $300 per night (smaller or slower clubs) thus making it 'easy' for me to make that 'goal' hence I do not stress myself out that I havn't made my minimum.
I aim for quality not quantity - I try to sell as many dances as possible to a few customers instead of selling to many customers.
