Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
Just trudt me on these. Don't ask me how I know! ;)
1. If you are gluuing on fake toenails, make sure you are not proping your foot on something stationery (like the toilet) in case you accidentally glue your foot to the prop.
2. If you do insist on usint something stationery, make sure you have vasoline and childrens craft sticks availible. This way you can pry/saw your foot loose.:O
3. Do not use an unfamilair hair color 3 days before your wedding--no matter HOW good the advertisemnt makes it sound. >:(
4. They tell you to test at-home hair color for a reason.
5. Leaving a home perm on longer will NOT make it work better.
6. Never attempt to cut your own hair while crying over the results of a home perm. :'(
7. Melted Vasoline is not the same thing as VO5 hot-oil conditioner. :P
8. Never, ever attempt to perform surgery on acne with hot needles. This goes double if you have been drinking.
9. The only part of an eyebrow that grows more sparsely after waxing is the part that you actaully want, that you accidentally waxed off one time. The straggly hairs you repeatedly attempt to wax away will return thicker and coarser with every waxing, just like weeds.

lol!! Thanks for that! I have a few to add:
(1) NEVER cut your own hair!! Lopsided hair is NOT attractive!
(2) Do not use bodygel in your hair.
(3) Never fall asleep with gum in your mouth----it will end up in your hair.

Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
Oh and if you are repairing your shoes at work with the emergency superglue, TAKE THE SHOE OFF first, cos it really hurts being stuck!
-
Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
Just learned another one--
Do not touch your hair after putting the super-goey foot-cream on your feet. Wash your hands first! (Ewwwww.......)

Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
lol colleen!
remember ladies, there is a reason why people who do that stuff FOR you, for a living, have to go to school for 1600 hours and pass a state-board test! save yourself the trauma and just go pay someone to do it who is trained and knows what they are doing!

Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
LOL Colleen, you just made my day... Here are some more..
1) Don't apply contact lenses after putting on fake eyelashes. The glue will sting your eyes and
the lashes make application difficult. I usually have the best luck when I apply my lenses
before make-up.
2) When attempting to do at-home waxing, do not forget the importance of gloves. When it all
comes down to it, after five minutes of exposure to sticky wax, your hands are more likely
to make a mess.
3) Drawing on tattoos with permanent markers when drunk is a terrible idea when you have
work the next day
4) If you're going to sleep with make up on, try to remove loose glitter :P

Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
here are some more- from experience of course :) :P :-\
artist's solvent or turpentine will remove any marker tattoos, permanent or otherwise
do not try to glue on fake lashes with superglue
do not let your hair fall into the bathtub if you used bath beads
do not remove your acrylic nails by pulling them off... trust me! :-\

ACK! The fumes alone would kill my eyes... I guess that's another reason to put your contacts in first ;)
(By the way, this is my 100th post... Yay!!!)

don't try to dry outfits in the microwave, especially if they have sequins on them.. the resulting fire can damage the microwave
don't put on red lipstick when drunk and without a mirror
cheap red wine really does stain your teeth blue
perfume is not a cure for bad breath

Do not use the tanning bed immediately after the girl using accelerant.

Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
If you choose to dye your hair at home, have someone assist you... if no one is there to help, how would you know if you miss a big section in the back of your head?
That Jergens body lotion that is a self-tanner over time... don't be fooled. It goes on great, but its a disgusting mess as it peels off your body and leaves you with that rotting-off flesh look.
And above all, no matter how much you think you need to lose weight, do not - I repeat DO NOT - go to step aerobics drunk.

Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
Obvious: Wash your hands after applying spray tan!
If you soak your hair in conditoner overnight, make sure you wash your hair THOUROUGHLY the next morning.
Never use fake toenails.
Don't use a buff puff if you have sensitive skin.
Don't worry about shaving against the grain.
Exfoliate your body before applying spray tan - and use lotion BEFORE you apply the tan. Wait for it to dry, then apply the fake tan. It will look a lot more even that way.

Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
If you choose to use tone on tone colorant, make sure it corresponds with your real hair color. (Auburn tone on tone made for brunette hair turns blonde hair BRIGHT ORANGE)

Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
this fake tone nail thing is getting kinda creepy...
-
Re: Beauty Lessons learned the hard way (Don't try this at home!)
I don't think I'd want longer toenails. Even if they get a little long I don't like the way it feels.
