How many of these stupid movies are they going to do? Isn't it just time to move on?
::)
Well - they had two volcano movies... and two asteroid movies ... and those were fiction! So - I figure six of them will probably work out.
I just don't have any desire to see this one.
This premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last night. Everyone was saying how the victim's families, who were all sitting in one section, were so upset (as in crying upset, not angry upset... and understandably so). No complaints though; not yet at least. Still, I don't know if I want to see it.
....
:banghead:
I feel so bad for them. It must've been so emotional, especially for the ones who were called during the flight and knew what was going on at the time. It's not something I'd want to relive anytime soon. I just hope that the movie does the victims and their families a little justice, and shows them in a positive light. I'll see it when it hits DVD, I think. I'm still debating.Quote:

The fact that people on that flight actually called relatives makes for irresistable movie material! Unfortunately because of how recently it happened, for many it's much too real...
I'm sure it is a very good movie, but I do not think I would be able to sit through this movie! I am almost in tears thinking about it now!
^That's the problem I'm having with it too. I've heard a few of the calls that were made, and I've seen the transcripts of the others. I just feel so bad for the family that was on the other end listening to it. To be so helpless like that, I don't know what I'd do.
I will see it. I think it's important not to forget this tragedy. As long as the movie has the support of the families of the victims I think it deserves the attention of the public.
God, I was having a hard time just watching the TRAILER last week . . . but I do plan to see it. Looks very well done; as for the emotional/political impact, we'll have to wait and see.
I'm going to see it.
See the reviews on
There was a review of this on the radio where they interviewed the director. The critics he said he was most fearful of where the victims families and from them, he got the most praise. He said they were happy in the sense that it placed a memory on for those they lost and that it helped them overcome the lingering grief.
I believe that if the victims families can put this tragedy somewhat behind them and allow the showing of this movie, then I don't see why others cannot.
Uh . . . to quote The Princess Bride, "I do not think it means what you think it means."Quote:

I want to go see this, but I don't think I'm be able to stomache it. The one on A&E earlier this year choked me up too much and the last thing that I need to be doing is sobbing in a movie theatre full of people doing the same thing.
I shall wait for the DVD.
i have a hard enough time skimming over my diary and catching entries i've made in the past when people i love died their tragic deaths. i can't even imagine having to face a movie on top of that. i'm sure it was very hard for them to agree to the movie being made, then watching it. i hope it is atleast educational, and the president reserved a copy to send osama for father's day....
Though the word is that it's a sensitive portrayal, I cannot see this movie. I don't think I will ever be able to; I can't relive that day.
The desire to dramatize terrible events on the big screen or in made for tv movies seems to me to be a very strange American convention. When we watch WWII movies, sad as they are, we feel comfort that at least the bad guys lost and the good guys won and despite all the loss, everything was ok in the end.
This time I'm not so certain things are all going to turn out ok. That's just one of the reasons that I can't sit through this film. It's just too painful and I don't feel that my watching it does any good to the victims' families and friends.
I wont go near it. If we stock it at my other job, I'm going to... I have no idea what I am going to do. Ugh. There is NO worry that I might forget that day. Trust me. It's an event I will never forget. I dont need to pay to remember it better, or from someone else's view.
had permission from the families...and are giving a donation to the nonprofit set up in memory of 93
Saw it last night..wish I could say it was amazing, movie of the year, etc etc.
But it was just "meh". I was more involved with the military and civilian air controllers then what was going on on the plane, and when the terrorists made their move and the passengers made their move, it was decent..but not omgzor wow.
That being said, the thing that got me most was the absolute dead silence it brought on the full theater..only a few sniffles.
No one moved at the end, even through the end postscript. It wasn't until the "Directed by.." came up that anyone dared move. This is most likely because of how the director chose to end it..it was damned effective.
the shitty part is that nobody whose opinion is actually respected, like newspapers and magazines, crap like that, are ever going to call it a bad movie no matter how crappy it is. they couldve had paris hilton and nicole richie as the pilots or something but because they did it for 9/11 people arent really going to call it bad
