new hustle material help!!!?
ok here goes... i work in an all lap dancing club where the price is $10 per song. i have my reggies and their great but they dont come in everyday. we have the club reggies but they are not necessarily a specific dancers reggie. ok i read a thread about gouging prices for dances. any ideas as to go about this with such a low price base? i noticed that a lot of u have dance prices at like $30 base price that is a lot to me. i used to work at a club that had $20 dances but that didnt work out and at first it was a hard transition but im used to it now. i mean on a good night i can make anywhere between 500 and 800 but thats it. and thats an exceptional night from staying from noon to 4 am. normally i make around the 200 to 400 range but i wish i could make a little more money ya know. any tips? suggestions?

Re: new hustle material help!!!?
nope no vip rooms. the set up is basically there is like a living room with some chairs in the front with the bar and where we girls sit and then when we get a dance there is another area that is just a bunch of booths and mirrors and thats where we dance. we have to put money in a juke box too.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
that's why you are maxing out at that rate....there's no way to upsell.
I think asking for more than the stated price of a dance is going to hurt you unless you are exceptionally better in some way than the rest of the girls.
Girls that are making $500+ on a regular basis work in clubs with VIP rooms.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
My club doesn't have VIP rooms either, but somehow I still do quite well. With high spenders, I often negotiate for the hour instead of per song. Works for me because we can legitimately sit and chat for part of the time and I don't have to nonstop dance for an hour (which I've done- ha, it gets boring!). I usually charge $300/hour, sometimes a little less ($200) if the club is very slow and it's a regular who I trust- especially those who just like to chat with me for long periods of time.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
I don't think that will work if it's $10/song though...There are about 13-15 songs per hour.
if a guy is going to pay more than the going rate for dances, he is going to have to get something special for it to be worth it, which is why VIP rooms are so helpful.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
Maybe you can try Mollyzmoon's approach with a lower dollar amount for the hour or half-hour. Over the whole shift you may be able to bump your money up. Try it with loyal or very interested customers.

Also try DancerWealth's course and my new fav How to Close Every Sale by Joe Girard. They will raise the percentage of sales you get and help you convince your custy to hang/spend with you longer.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
My club is $20 a dance, but for a few months the manager put it down to $10 (until the owner found out). When it was $10 a lot of us told guys that it was $10 no touch and $20 they could touch. This method, though, worked to some degree because Michigan is a high mileage area and guys expect touching for $20 a dance and because several girls were also in on it.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
Can you talk to the managers about adding or partitioning off rooms or at least about putting the price up?
Dancer drinks where you get a cut might give you a chance to sit down for a while and get cosy enough to hustle a bigger sale.
Could you do something to make the stage tipping more productive like more attention for more of a tip, if the stage tip price is not fixed you should be able to pull more off the podium per song than you make in the lap dances.
You could use a novelty to sell longer shows like a "fantasy show" where you dress in a theme costume but they must book you for a certain amount of time and it would cost more per song.
Charge them more to chose their favorite music.
Encorage them to tip generously if they like your show.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
Also- learn to ask or politely demand a tip on the dance. I started doing that and about 50% of the time I get a $1-$5 tip. Not a lot, but if you do it consistently it can help.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
I work in a $10 dance bar, too. I do back rubs to make extra tips.
Re: new hustle material help!!!?
Consistent money beats large amounts of money anytime. Just like the tortoise and the hare. The hare is after the big money and the tortoise just plugs along night after night socking away the steady money. Of course in the end the hare is broke, and the tortoise becomes rich, right? Most girls who brag about making $800-$1000 a night hardly work, and don't tell you about their slow nights. And these girls have nothing to show for what they "claim" they make. They couldn't loan you $200.
Too many girls are hung up on what they make a night. What's most important is how much you make a week, and if you are working the maximum amount of days possible per week and saving money.
EVERY dancer has nights where she makes almost nothing. And every dancer has some good nights.
You said the $20 a dance clubs weren't working for you. At $20, guys are more cautious with their money than if the dances are $10, which makes the dances easier to sell, right?
The big problem with 80% of dancers is that they don't work enough days. If you are working 5 nights a week, and averaging $300 a night and saving $500 for the week, you are a huge success.
VIP rooms help earnings as Emily says, but many clubs that tout themselves as "upscale" with VIP and Champagne rooms have more of a tourist or business traveler clientele which is great during the season, but when nothing is going on in town, your money can be zilch. So in reality, many dancers in those clubs are averaging what you are or even less when they factor in the bad times.
You are doing good. I would just suggest working on being popular in the club so you can have a consistent following of admirers who buy dances from you. That will pay off in the long run.
