Staying Positive
It really works! Before I even got on the floor last night, the first things I heard were a bunch of dancers talking in the back, "it's so slow", "you just have to be lucky theses days", when I work at club X I make so mch more money". Damn I didn't even have my makeup on and was starting to feel like "oh, shit, one of those kind of nights" BUT right then I made a concious desicion to say fuck that , I came to make money and fuck what everybody else is talking about. I got onto to the floor and this chick starting talking to me .."it's so bad, blah blah , I just got fired from another club blah blah", the girl was nice and all but hearing her drama was doing nothing for my spirits. I excused myself and began my hustle, and did I hustle! I walked out with over a G, and I was so happy that I stayed focused on my own path and got myself away from all negative talk. I believe had I started commiserating with everyone I would have walked out with 200$ like most of the other girls. ::)

Re: Staying Positive
It's all a state of mind. These girls get so "down" that no one's buying dances, while they moan and groan (and not the good kind) huddled in a corner...missing out on all of the money waiting for them on the floor.
I believe that I always did well when I was dancing because I just went to work and did my thing. I spoke with the girls, but I didn't get involved in the drama...
You're there to work, not to socialize. ;)
Congrats on having a great night!

Re: Staying Positive
You know the saying well, "Misery likes company". Well, to be honest, it's better to be working the floor solo and I'm pleased you ignored the others and did what worked best for you.
If I'm honest, I've fallen into the "There's no £ tonight" trap one too many times and it's taken some me a long time to get out of that rut in the past. After keeping a diary about work and hanging around with the money girls at work, my spirit and my money has substantially improved. It's always good to hear success stories.
Also, if my moods down, I never wear black. I always wear my brightest clothes. I have an amazing outfit which is several neon colours that I wear if I need the pick up. It's a conversation starter with the men and helps me get into my hustling mood. Anything that helps you make money through good times and bad, you should stick with and maximise on.

Re: Staying Positive
The thing i dont understand is why these girls sit about moaning in the first place, no one is gonna come and find them in the changing room to ask them for a dance are they? Go out and do some work and your night just might start getting better.

Re: Staying Positive
I find that I stay cranky longer if I don't spit it out and tell me work buddies ahen I'm in a rut. They tell me too and I try to pick them up and they try to pick me up and we tell each other where money might be in the room. So talking it out isn't bad as long as you don't stay too long or hide out completely in the back.
