Sucks!!!
So I was applying for my Working Holiday Visa and I found out I couldn't apply because I was AMERICAN. ;-; America and Australia don't have the correct agreements with eachother. DAMN YOU AMERICA, I KNOW THIS IS YOUR FAULT.
The ONLY way for me to extend my stay in Australia is to have a business sponsor me. ONLY way. :( I am here for 3 months otherwise. ;-;
Anybody with a business in Australia up for it *hinthintnudgenudge*....
Bah, just kidding. :(
Anyway, I'm so distressed. I want to stay in this country more than anything.
Think I could stay if I said my country is at war and I'm afraid to go back? (I am... the idea of going back makes me cry).

Re: Sucks!!!
See, most governments have a few protections for their workers when it comes to guest workers.
But the US - they are all like "Sure! Fire the americans and replace them with H1-B and L-1 visa holders! Don't want to pay a licensed bonded plumber who follows the government's business rules - go ahead and hire an illegal who snuck across the border!"

Enroll at uni. You can only work 20 hours a week while classes are in session, but as a dancer that's not a huge problem. Once you've earned a degree in Australia, it's a lot easier to apply for permanent residency. Just DON'T do what I did and go home after you finish your degree! It's a lot more difficult to come back then.
Talk to the DIMIA office about getting a student visa. There are several excellent universities in the area. And a tip... hairdressers get a lot of immigration points for some reason. A friend of mine got a Masters in film and then had to go to hairdressing school so she could stay in the country. It might be worth going to beauty school for awhile so you can stay!
