"bit*h dont use my song no more"....
Thats what i heard after i used Rompe i can respect not using a girls signature song when she is there....but if shes not there and the mexicans who happen to tip me well request Rompe by Daddy Yankke...im gonna do it. I made 100 on stage off rompe....and i go in the dressing room and Dream says" i gotta talk to u....its disrespectful to use someone elses song bla bla bla" i get what she sayin.....but the Rompe girl wasnt even there last night so what and i do it better anyway
what u guys think about this situation?

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
Fuck em...if they got a problem with it, have them take it up w/ the DJ. This "Dream" girl sounds like she loves the drama. She probably can't wait for the girl who usually dances to Rompe to come in. Avoid the drama...
I had a girl tell me that (but alot nicer) when I first started. She just told me that she really loves baby bash, and if I could, not dance to it while she is there. I said fine, I respected that..and that was that. When she isn't there, I play it.

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
Top 40 is anyone's game. If someone brought in hard to find music and/or did some editing for their set, then respect that. But Daddy Yankee is popular, I've heard that song a billion times already and I don't even go into clubs or listen to much radio....
-
Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
unless she owns the copyright to it, it's not her song. dance to whatever the fuck you want.
my stage name used to be serenity and i didn't get pissed off when girls danced to serenity by godsmack (literally my signature song).
i only get pissed when girls copy my sets song for song. that's annoying.

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
Eww. I'd say dance to whatever the heck you want to too. Plus how the hell would you remember, keep that in mind. With my terrible memory, I know I wouldn't. LOL. If it bothers her THAT much, then she should def. tell the DJ. Not you. That ain't your problem.

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
I always HATED that "my song" crap, especialy when it comes to the hot new songs. If you bring in some obscure song that isnt well known, sure it can be your song when your there. But learn to share.
-
Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
I agree, and I think most dj's would, that unless it's some obscure song or you brought it to us before it was available to the masses ( ie: it comes out on promos) it belongs to the dj. <- see that period.
As far as really popular songs go...money dances to it. Divas need not apply.
-
Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
If I bring in my own CD's and nobody ever used a song then I start using it and then they start using it I do say something. I have a few popular songs that I only dance to becuase nobody was dancing to them before me, and a have a few obscure songs that I "claim". Most all of the girls do, we rarely have drama over it though.

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
There is a girl that "owns" I'm in Luv with a Stripper at my club.
She tipped the DJ $100 and he gave her exclusive rights to it!
I hate the song and I wouldn't pay $100 for anything, but you know...that seems to be fair enough!
-
Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
What's the fuss? Even if it is an obscure track there are - admittedly slim - chances that someone else at sometime, some where is going to use it. As long as you aren't there or (worse) if the newbie arrives and wants that song but you've have already used it (even if you haven't i'd expect my regular DJ to point out that i dance to that track and to check with me as to if that would be ok, manners, you know?) - then there shouldn't be a problem.
Although i do admit to once giving a newbie a regular track of mine to dance to but not only was she terrible on stage but she was obnoxious to everyone, girls, custies and the DJ, so i went up ten minutes later and danced to the exact same track, the way it should be done, to much whooping and cheering. She never came back }:D

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
I had a few signature songs and I worked it out with the DJ that if someone else requested it, she and I would be put up together so we could both enjoy it....I would never approach another girl about something like this. I hate confrontation AND drama.

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
For some reason, alot of guys at my club request it. I have never danced to it though...

Well...I must be outta the loop or something. I was obviously unaware that money is growing on trees! There can't be any other reason for spending $100 to dance to that song. In fact, I think I'd be willing to pay $100 to never have to hear that song again! :P

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
to her credit, I work at a club where you hardly ever get tipped on stage, and she gets tipped a lot during that song
we hate it, but cinn is right...guys like it.

:soapbox: As far as I'm concerned, she can have the song. I lothe it. However... paying the DJ to make it 'your song' is, in my opinion, complete BULLS--T!
You're just asking for problems. Let's say 'DJ X' makes the same 'deal' with 'Stripper A'. The following day, 'Stripper A' comes into work, and finds 'Stripper B' dancing to 'her song'. She goes to 'DJ Y', because 'X' has the day off, and says that 'DJ X' told her that it was 'her song', and Stripper B has no right to dance to it. Now DJ Y wants to talk to DJ X to get the lowdown. Stripper A, wanting to have something done about it 'right now' goes to the MOD(Manager On Duty). Long story short... Sh-t rolls downhill. All the B.S. that DJ X is now going to have to go through, explnations, reason's why, speaking with managers, not to mention having to exlpain things to Stripper A, etc... In the end it isn't even worth the $100. It's just not a good idea.

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
lol..I just loved reading this,I haven't laughed so much in a long while. ;D But sadly I know how it is.About a year ago there was this crazy new girl at my club,I just stepped off of the stage and she runs up to me and starts screaming at me from the top of her lungs that I stole her song and made her look like an idiot.I was like ummm...ok... :sarcastic .The song was The Dope Show by Marilyn Manson.
I really don't care if some one dances to the same things that I do but I had been at the club for about 2 and a half years at this point and she had been there 2 days.My nickname at work is the Manson chick or Miss Manson because I dance to so much of his work and I'm a really big fan.She was making such an ass of herself the manager pulled her from the floor and asked me to step in his office to sort things out.I walked in and flatly stated that I could care less about what she danced to and that nither she or I owned the rights to the song and that made it no one's song. With that I excused myself and went back to work. The dj pulled me aside to ask what happend I told him,he laughed,I slid him a $20 and said make her night hell,Smiled and went back to work. For the rest of the night she danced to The Dope Show. ;D

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
At our club which is small and has 7 dancers we have to personally present our own c.ds to the d.j. We have to buy it, therefore it is "our" song. If a girl would ask to dance to another dancer's song, she would need permission from that dancer. To me that only seems fair since we are paying $13.99 - $17.99 for a c.d.
Now if the music were up to the d.j to supply then a girl shouldn't be bickering about who's song it is. Fair game.

T.I.P.S. - To Insure Prompt (or Proper) Service (Usually given BEFORE)

Now back to the point:
If the dancers bring their own CD then I guess that it would be 'their song', but for digital DJ's like me, I just don't see the the point of giving a dancer "the rights" to a song that is in the Club's database. Which, as far as I understand, is there for everyone to benefit from.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "I own the rights" but I would have the comfort of knowing that I can dance to the song I like when I'm working because the DJ knows I'll take care of him for it.
Now THAT I'll agree with.

Re: "bit*h dont use my song no more"....
I have songs that I LOVE and use EVERYday to pratice .
I f anyone else uses "my songs" my response is to get up a bit later in the night or week and do better.
I f a client requests another girl to dance it is not going to help me in anyway to be a diva and rude !
Of course if If another girl uses it( and was there before me) I would only dance to it if I got a requset for it.
That is just my 2 cents as a wannabe . (Shugs).
