Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
What is the club traffic like in the winter for these clubs? I was thinking about traveling during January.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
Business is fairly steady all year round in these clubs. Boji Nites in Arnolds Park Iowa is slow because it is a tourist spot.

There's a place in Iowa that's a tourist spot? You're kidding me! (just kidding... well, kinda) ;)

Top Hat in Wisconsin does give base pay, but that's because you don't make much in tips there (last time I worked a full week- in the summer I might add which is busy season around here- I made just over $600 not including the $200 base pay- so just over $800 total), and you really need that base pay to make up for the lack of money (and the base pay isn't even really enough to make up for it, but it does help some). Business has really gone down a lot, and I don't work there anymore because of that and a few other reasons. I reviewed it in the Clubs & Reviews section a long time ago, and I no longer would give it the good rating I did then.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
Tina: Can you please post updates to what business is like in these clubs, especially for summer, and if any booking policies have changed? I am going to head up north for 2-3 weeks in August and want to maximize my earnings. Or a PM, whatever.
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
Bridgette, gave you a PM with my recommendations.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
Just wanted to add to this: Priceline.com is my lifesaver for traveling. I travel nearly early every weekend ( non-dancing gig ) . Learn how to use the bidding feature ( name your own price ) . It's amazing. My "magic" bid is $50 a night for a 3 star hotel. It's often accepted ( they don't charge you if the bid isn't accepted ). The drawback in your don't know where you are staying ( they choose, so you need to pick an area from a map ... you'll have to make sure it's close to your club or be willing to drive ) .
I would NOT recommend using priceline for anything under 3 stars. Since you don't know where you will be exactly, a 2 star can mean a best western ( which is fine ) or an extended stay america ( they are yucky ) or other yucky hotel .
I should add however ( since this post does refer to rural places ) that is does work better in larger areas and I've found that it works well in rural places , but not amazingly well the way is does in a big city with lots of competing hotels. I also do my bids the same day ( just before flying out ) since I've found that prices seem to be slashed at the last minute.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
I really wouldn't recommend flying to these smaller towns. You need your own RELIABLE transportation. You've got to be able to work 3-4 consecutive weeks and hop in the car and DRIVE 2-5 hours on a Monday morning to your next booking to make this profitable. I've been doing this now for 5 years and it's routine to me.
Each town has a few motels that are decent and that has weekly rates. You won't find them on Priceline. Just ask the club when you confirm your bookings or PM me and I will tell you where to stay. You HAVE to pay for the entire week on Monday for the weekly rates.
If you follow my guidelines I GUARANTEE you will go home with a profit. If you don't have your own late model car, I would avoid working the booking circuit. If you are unable or unwilling to work 3-4 weeks consecutively, I would avoid working the booking circuit.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
I do small town bookings(im on a tour of them right now actually) and you can easily take the greyhound between bookings. Its probably cheaper then what you would pay in gas and insurance. As long as you don't have a lot of luggage its not bad at all. I've done the drive between bookings and i've done the greyhound and I personally find greyhound easier.
Just check the greyhound website to make sure it goes to the small towns you plan on doing.
So yea you will fly into your first gig then greyhound between the rest of them.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
I just want to clarify the flying thing. I would drive to these locations too. I was refering to flying for my non-dancing gig ( saying I book a hotel by bidding on priceline right before flying out ). The priceline thing would still work for anyone who is driving.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
thx Tina this was really informational, especially since I am new to the site. I do have one question,, are these clubs recommended for Af Am cury women who are shaped like the model Buffy the Body!
-
Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
These clubs are not that picky about your body style. African American women of all shapes work in the various clubs.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
Thanks for this list, it helps so much as I am looking to getting into travelling!
I have worked at the Lamp Liter (which was mentioned in the OP); it is in Ottawa, IL and it's my favorite place to work at. Base pay is $120 for a 6-day week, tip-outs are not mandatory but a good idea if you plan to return. Average $1500-$2200.
Website: kevinlampliter.com
Some of the dancers there have mentioned a couple of other clubs that are good for visiting: Phipps in Hayward, WI (Thu-Sat gigs), and The New Body Shop in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Both places allegedly provide free lodgings.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
Yes, there is. I work there and I make really really good damn money.

Greyhound does not go to a lot of the smaller towns that Tina recommends.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
Someone told me there's a club in Eagle River (or Eagle Bend?), Wisconsin called "Weasels" that pays shift pay (base) and has good tips...Anyone worked there?
-
Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
I've never been to Weasel's but I've heard about it-I believe they pay $90 base pay a day. Deer hunting and snowmobiling is definitely the best time to work there-the girls I know who have worked there said they liked it. I heard you're not allowed to ask for lap dances there-you have to wait for customers to ask you, which seems kind of strange.

It might be to get around some weird city ordinance that prohibits dancers/management from asking for money in exchange for erotic entertainment ("pandering/solicitation") but they forgot to make that run the other direction (the customers are free to ask for a service in exchange for money...It's less popular to prohibit the freedoms of men & their spending.)
Maybe someone could clear this up? It sounds like a promising club.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
The club in Storm Lake, IA is closed now. BOOO!
Boji Nights in Arnolds Park, IA needs girls. 2 pay spots available in the winter, 3 in the summer. 2-6 girls a week. Cheapy hotel nearby, several cab companies.
Zippers in Milford, IA is supposed to be closing and I will check on that.
Aragon in Albert Lea, MN is now owned and run by Dawn. Call around 10 am.
Just trying to help keep the list updated.
edited to say that Zippers is still open but in trouble. Lost their liquor license twice.

Re: Tina's Guide To Clubs That Offer Advance Bookings And Base Pay
Where is it that you work where you do so well? I couldn't follow that thread and I would like to find a place where I could stay for 2-3 weeks, not just one, where the girls aren't too catty.... :-) Sari
