Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
a friend of mine said to me: "pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good."
That got me thinking.... is bad sex still pretty good? I don't think so... when someone says that it makes me think they've never had really good sex... what do you think?

Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
I'd rather have no sex at all...
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
bad sex is painful and boring....bad pizza still satisfies.
but if your friend was a guy, then maybe it's different.
Sperm is cheap. Eggs are not. Women are programmed to think differently about sex for that reason, I think.

^What Em said.
If it's not good, keep it.

That goes hand in hand with the difference in defining "bad sex". For a lot of men, the only bad sex is no sex.
Personally, Ive been in a relationship where the sex was good and gravitated into bad sex (which paralelled the failing of the relationship). I would much rather have had no sex then have experienced that.

Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
I rather not have sex than traumatic sex.
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
No. I'm not suffering from getting bad sex right now. But if I did, I wouldn't have it. I'd rather do myself.

Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
Depends, can I jerk off instead of no sex?
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
No sex is much better than bad sex, particularly if the other person KNOWS s/he is bad and refuses to improve.
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
I'm stuck in bad sex right now, I'd much rather have no sex
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
I'd rather get hit in the head with a frying pan than have bad sex. So my vote was no.
I mean, if its bad, there are so many other things you could be doing with your time...such as flossing your teeth, reading dlisted, being a productive member of society.
Time is money, people.
Besides, eating bad pizza doesn't make it hurt to sit down for a while, hahaha.

Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
I choose option 3: Masturbation.

I think that someone who says that might have had really good sex but that they definitely haven't had really bad sex!

Isn't that just a variety of good sex, namely sex with someone you love?
(Apologies to Woody Allen.)

I concur.
Place me in the Lots-of-Fun-or-None category, please.

Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
Yeah, damn, what's more depressing than bad sex? It's like craving a steak and getting wheat loaf.
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
no sex!!! bad sex is not even a remotely fun experience.
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
Bad sex to me is like the expression about fishing.
Even a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work!

Oooo... :-[ *Shudders*
You know sex is bad when... the only option that would prevent injury is to bail! And really, how often does that happen?!?!
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
No sex... I'd rather masturbate than have sex with a machine.
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
I'd rather no sex. If it's not good I don't want it. After all, I can have sex with myself and that is always good.
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
Don't you mean, which is WORSE? Blegh....... rather have sex with myself.
-
Re: Which is better: bad sex or no sex?
Hah. this reminds me of all the arguments I got in about guys being "Lucky enough to get any at all."
But now? I mean, I >was< lucky to see a successful "negotiation" result in spread legs once a month so of course I was jealous.
Nothing like realizing all your sex up till a certain point was bad sex.
Please. I'd rather just not bother, and would probably even bail if it where bad. And I have low standards!

Yeah...
I was in a situation where the sex was outrageously good the first year, and got bad pretty quickly the second, and it would have been far better to just have ended the whole thing.
A lot of long term relationships will go through phases of less or less fulfilling sex, especially in ones that last more than a few years, and especially if one or more partner is going through stress, or has a drastic change in appearance (like gaining a bunch of weight, for instance) and it's a true test of love.
The longest relationship I was in never really entailed bad sex, but we went through a period of less interest, and then an enchanting rekindling of lust that kept it going for another year and a half. Just talked to her a few months ago, and she was most gratifyingly positive about what we shared--though her current boyfriend's attitude precludes any close friendship between us.
