10 min. set - poodle skirt, need music to match!
I'm doing a theme show with a maximum of 10 min. I need SERIOUS help picking some music. I like hiphop type, I just don't remember any of the oldies songs (even though I worked at Burgerville). Please help!! I need this by Thursday morning. E mail, or IM me if you'd like.

You could try the songs from Grease.

Hip-hop will not go with that outfit. I'd suggest you start with Jerry Lee Lewis - "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin'" and go from there. Maybe "Chantilly Lace," either the Big Bopper or Jerry Lee Lewis' cover of it - just make sure you have a ponytail if you go with that song. A ponytail would go best with that outfit anyway.

I don't think hip-hop would work either. It's got to be rockabilly and early r n'b all the way.
Wanda Jackson - "Let's Have a Party"
Elvis Presley - "Good Rocking Tonight"
Warren Smith - "Uranium Rock"
Rock-A-Teens - "Woo Hoo"
Lorrie and Larry Collins - "Mercy"
Fats Domino - "Whole Lotta Lovin"
Eddie Cochran - "C'mon Everbody"
Re: 10 min. set - poodle skirt, need music to match!
I'm a 50's and 60's freak. Try a mix of slower and faster songs:
Be Bop A Lula - Gene Vincent (sexy old time stripper music, good to start with)
Rock Around The Clock - Bill Haley and The Comets
Runaround Sue - Dion And The Belmonts
Bobby Darrin - Queen Of The Hop
Great Balls of Fire - Jerry Lee Lewis (Yek mentioned this and I agree)
Let me know if you need any of these and I'll send them to you.

"Jump. Jive and Wail" by Cherry Poppin Daddies.
I do this with the poodle skirt, etc and it works really well.. :)
Re: 10 min. set - poodle skirt, need music to match!
"Jump Jive & Wail" is the Brian Setzer Ochestra. (He of Stray Cats fame). Good tune though. Is there a CPD remake I am unaware of?

You can use the Fat Boys version of The Twist which is always fun and up-beat.
