Toning Arms with Hand Weights
I found a pair of 10-pound handweights. I hate my flabby arms and I want to look good in tank tops this summer. The only time my arms ever looked good was when I had a gym membership, but I can't afford one now. So what can I do with these puppies at home to tone up all this arm flab?
Re: Toning Arms with Hand Weights
Bicep curls, tricep extensions, chest flys, shoulder presses, tricep kick backs, bench presses, hammer curls, shoulder raises, shoulder shrugs...
And the list goes on.
If you can, go get the women's weightlifting bible. Or at least go rent it from the library. ;)

I love dumbells, they are great for what you want to do.
You might try my favorite thing to do, which is to alternately 'punch' out straight with each arm, until you get too tired to do it anymore. Faster is better.
It'll also give you a mean punch, in case some rude customer grabs your ass, lol...
Re: Toning Arms with Hand Weights
Ooh. Good one. Although apparently I've already got a nice enough punch, considering the drunk dude who was on the floor spitting blood a couple of weeks ago... he pulled me against him and started kissing my neck, right after I refused to kiss him. Next thing I knew, I'd smashed in his windpipe. I think I was just as surprised as he was.
Re: Toning Arms with Hand Weights
Another great workout is to hold the weight directly in front of you for 2 minutes. Arms raised completely parallel with the floor. The next day, you do it with the arms held to the sides (cross style) for 2 minutes. Well, you'll have to work up to 2 minutes. You'll probably go for 2 minutes total in 5 second intervals at first. But, this gives you great shoulders. ;)
Another great way to do a full body toning is using the weights with a balance ball. Stabalizing yourself while working with weights is a killer on the body and tones it up super quick.

Thanks! I can't afford the balance ball, but that first trick sounds great.

Did the dude die? That's usually the end of these tall tales. ;D

I have three of them. If you want one, PM me. ;)
You won't regret it.

Chicagoeditor... what an odd comment. No, he was fine after a few minutes.
Venus... I'm okay for now; my place is pretty cluttered already and we might be moving soon. I'm going to see what I can do without the ball. But thanks!
