What the hell is up with this phrase?
Why do almost all DJs begin every announcement with it?
What does the word "alright" mean, why is it such a crutch? I looked up "alright" in the online Mirriam-Webster dictionary, it was not much help.
'All is right'?
Hopefully so.
"Listen to me" is what it seems to mean, but in most cases it's rather futile, since almost everyone but the manager and the DJ usually wishes he would just shut up and play the fucking music...
What I especially hate are the DJs who sound like they are swallowing a golf ball 'right' in the middle of the "right" part. The new DJ at my old club did this seven times in the half hour I was there last, and I wanted to throw something at him.
Fake, cheesy enthusiasm, dripping from the booth.
Of course, it didn't help when he shouted "Guys, if you like pussy, make some noise!!"
No wonder so many people hate stripclub DJs, lol.
