I didn't see this anywhere here...but....then again I didn't search too hard either.
Has anyone danced to any Massive Attack?
JUST wondering because I know a dancer who dances to them frequently..... probably the hottest thing I've ever seen was her ....... on and off the pole to Angel......................AWESOME song.
AWESOME.
Also seen her dance to Teardrop by Massive Attack...yet again VERY sexy! :shy:
Don't forget
Kruder & Dorfmeister
Portishead
Or search 'trip hop' or 'acid jazz' on your favorite file sharing network and you will be set for life

Angel and Teardrop are both off the same album, Mezzanine, which is quite good. I have only ever worked at one club that would allow anything as slow as most Massive Attack songs though. I have 4 album's worth in my computer at work, but I mainly play it before we open. They ARE very sexy tunes, yes...if the club allows it. I have thrown Angel in at the end of the night before, as a last-dancer-onstage thing. Unfinished Sympathy is a nice one that I can almost always get away with though, since it has a bit more of a beat. There are a couple of other ones, too, but song titles are eluding me right now.
"Teardrop" rocks. It's used as the theme of "House" too.
"Teardrop" is mainly sexy because it has Liz Frazer from Cocteau Twins doing the vocal duties.
There were two other ones that are hot, but also s-l-o-w that feature Tracey Thorn from Everything But The Girl on vocals. I know one is on the cd "Protection", and I THINK it's the title track. There was another called "The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game" that was sassy as well. Good chillin' with some wine in front of the fireplace tunes.
WTF I watch "House" semi-regularly and I never noticed that "Teardrop" was the theme song. Weird. I'll make a note to pay attention next time I watch. I tend to hit "mute" on anything inbetween/at the beginning of shows, perhaps that's why. I love CSI, but could totally do without ever hearing "Who Are You" again, ya know?
I love stuff like this, though as Mr. C says, a lot of clubs won't allow it, and it's generally better at the end of the night. Some of the various remixes which they have participated on are also quite good--and I too am not remembering names, but that's never been my forte, lol.
But really, when I go out looking for new music for work, I look for stuff like this more than anything--even if I can use it the least, lol.
The right moment--a happy crowd you have rocked all night, a sultry performance by a stunning dancer in full effect...
This is why I do this.
Are you serious? You've never heard the theme song? LOL.. I honestly had to look the song up when the show first started because I absolutely love it. I have the whole song on my computer, but I love the instrumental part just for the fact that it's what's played on the theme--no words.Quote:

I just tried to merge threads, and it worked--but forgot about the chronological order thing--but whatever.
TankGirl had started this thread about one of their latestr releases a while back and I saved it, since I like the music and use it when the mood is right.
This song is pretty good--one of those sexy, end of the night variety.
Thanks to TankGirl, and to KittenBlue82, for starting these cool threads.
While living in Austin some jerk off broke my car window and stole my car CD player (which was 6 years old at the time). I would have given him the $10 POS if it would have saved my window. The point is my Mezzanine CD was in the player.
Ha, I got my car stereo ripped off (or out, I should say--they made a mess of my dashboard) in Austin, too.
It's actually a nice city, as they go--not too much crime.
Nothing was in it, though--so they didn't get any good music out of the deal.
Live with me is currently my TOP favorite by Massive Attack....being a myspace junkie I had the video on there for WEEKS...AWESOME song...I love it!
Massive Attack is very sexy. If you are looking for the same sexiness but with a little funk added in try the brit techno group ZERO 7. Someone just turned me onto them and they are real good.
"protection" by massive attack is so sexy. It was on the "Hackers" soundtrack and it reminds me of a young Angelina Jolie in the movie. God was she hot.
Thanks for the suggestions, DJ Mike and Scorpio...
I've danced to both Angel and Teardrop....very sexy songs. Unfinished Symphony is a personal fav, but I haven't danced to it.
I deeply love Massive Attack, I was a little offline and yesterday I was very happy to read all your posts.
MrC: Tracey Thorn vocals' are "Protection" - awesome! - and "Better Things"

Well, they seem pretty popular for making love :-D I absolutely second it.
I discover my first Massive Attack' song - "SLY" from "Protection" - in a book, 7 years ago. I was alone in Rome, in my hotel room and I was reading about the heroine, a junkie girl, having a climax just listening to this song.
So I called my boyfriend and asked him if he know this song. He did, he played the song on stereo and I listened it on phone. It was so romantic & sexy, I was really in Love with him and this song still is very powerful for me.
ciao
sometimes i do a set of karma coma by massive attack, followed by glorybox by portishead, and it goes over really well. trip-hop in general is sexy and great to dance to.
Massive Attack + Portishead = LOVE!!
