dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
So I just started dancing and I'm at I consider a high hustle club. One thing I'm noticing which is really pissing me off is when I'm with a customer another dancer comes up to the table and interrupts us! Like last night I was dancing up on the table and the customer was watching me and this dancer came up to the table and started talking to the customer. This happened several times! Isn't there an unspoken rule that when another dancer is at a table with a customer you don't go up or is it a free for all? What should I do? Should I just do it back to the dancers that do it to me? I don't want to say anything to the housemom or managers because I just started and I don't want to seem like I'm rocking the boat or anything. Please, I need advice! Thanks!!!
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
Maybe say something like... So, it's acceptable to do this and that? See what they say. If they say that it is, then feel free to do it to them, too. If they say it isn't, ask why they're doing it to you then. Hehe, They'd have to say something like "because I'm a rude bitch".
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
Thats just common courtesy. Nip it in the bud. I would talk to the housemom or managers; that's what they're there for. Or politely ask the other girls not to interrupt. Don't do it back to them because it just re-inforces negativity.
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
If the dancer doesn't get rid of the intrusion, the customer might. I've asked them nicely to move on and in one occasion to "get lost," when the dancer was too obtuse to realize I meant business the first time.
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
Sounds like they're pushing you around because you're new. Maybe you're sitting with a club regular whom these girls already know. Girls may feel like they have a "right" to this customer, but that's ridiculous. Unless he told you that he's waiting for a particular girl, you have as much right as anyone to sit with him. This used to happen to me when I worked days at a club where virtually ALL the customers were regulars. Girls would walk right up to the table and slam their purse down like they owned the place. This happened when it was slow and they had nowhere else to go.
Bella's advice seems smart. Also, learn ways to keep the customers attention on you. Acknowledge the other dancer politely, then don't look at her again. Your customer will look where you're looking; if you're starting at her thinking about what a bitch she is, he will stare at her too, and she will have his attention. Instead, maintain eye contact with him. As soon as possible, resume whatever conversation you were having before she came up, and if possible, ask a question, as it requires more of his attention to talk than to listen -- "Anyway, you were telling me about your trip..." -- and reminds him that the two of you were already having a conversation. Stay in physical contact with him, as well. Put your hand on his arm or, better yet, leg -- prevents other girls from sitting on his lap.
It helps if you have already planted the idea of getting dances with you. I try to do this very soon in the conversation...without asking for a dance, I say something that makes the assumption that we are going to dance together, like "You're going to be fun to dance for." When another girl tries to crowd in on you, the customer may feel he has already made a commitment to you, and will wave her off himself. This happened to me more than I would have expected. Or, you can go ahead and make the sale: "Ready for that dance now?" Because you've already done some pre-selling, he may go ahead and say yes. I've noticed that some customers in this situation want dances from both girls, and they will get dances with you right away, so they can move on to the next girl. If this is the case, and the other girl is sitting around at the table during your dances, you won't get more than one or two dances. I would always smile at the girl and say something like "Can you give us a few minutes?" Then she pretty much has to leave. Hopefully she will find another customer and you will be able to keep dancing. If she does come back and the customer asks you to finish up, be graceful about it. Customers DO notice when girls are rude, and it never makes a good impression.

^^^^I've had the same problem. But during my situation i was new too!!! So I agree with what xoxoGracexoxo says.
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
I was sitting with a customer once and a girl came up to us, sat in my customers lap and punched me in the arm. Then she made my customer get up and tried to take him into a VIP area. Both the customer and I were in shock. Needless to say, my customer came back and told me that he felt violated. She didn't get a single dance from him.
I was going to pull her aside at the end of the night but she ended up getting fired. Karma's a bitch.
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
This happened last night when I was dancing on top of the table. She came up and sat down while I was in the middle of my dance on top of the table. At first I thought she was his girlfriend or something. I really couldn't stop my dance when she came up. I will take the other advice above and see if that works. I just may say something to the house mom or manager and let her know that there are girls out there rudely interrupting dancers during their time with a customer. I would NEVER do that! I think that's rude, classless and shows that you aren't good at hustling, maybe what they're doing is trying to use take away or use my hustle because they can't on their own?
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
Same thing happened to me last week! I was dancing for a guy that had been in the night before and the girl who I guess had been dancing for him then came up and started talking to his friend. Fine. Then she says really loud, "Oh, he's cheating on me!" I was a bit agitated, but not as much as when she came up WHILE I WAS ON HIS LAP DURING A DANCE and said, "I just wanted to say hi!"
How awkward for the customer and me...
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
Ok, adding onto this subject although it's a bit old.
I've been having this problem. At my old club, you would NEVER sit at a table with a guy to girl ratio of 1:1. If there is an unoccupied guy, go for it, but not if there is a girl for each guy.
It is one specific girl who is crowding me, and from what I hear, she does it to lots of girls. Maybe she thinks because I'm new to the club I'm a pushover, but she specifically said to me in the dressing room, "I don't want you to think I'm stepping on your toes." to which I replied, "If you were sitting with him, I would never come over and sit down, because I think it's rude." She still continued to try to mess with my money all night, in essence. It's not like it's not all fair in love, war, and strip club customers, but come on, it's called courtesy. She seems to think that because she has kids to support she deserves the money more. I don't care what the heck you're spending the money on. My need for more clothes and expensive dinners is way more important, in my opinion.
just needed to vent :)
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
Yes, they continue to do it in my club! It's obvious there are some people that don't care who's toes they step on to get an extra buck. I am not that person, I like to know I EARNED my money, not basically STOLEN from someone else. I used to think that your guy that you're sitting with would say something but he won't, he sees T&A and that's all he cares about. What I've been learning from the Vets at my club that we've befriended is to not let it happen. You have to stand your ground, when a girl steps in you have to say "Excuse me, but he and I are in the middle of a convo or I was just getting ready to dance for him, when I'm finished, then you may come back". It will make that girl look like a total idiot too.
That girl that came up to you saying "I don't want it to seem like I'm stepping on your toes" is obviously to her stepping on your toes because if she wasn't, she wouldn't have said anything. I know others disagree on here but I believe that if someone does it to me, then it's fair came to do it back. Some girls are too dense to learn that it's not ok by just saying something to them, some you have to do it to them for them to see what it feels like. And yes, being new makes it harder, I'm still learning things but the longer you're not new the easier it gets!
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
Grrr... This happened the other night in the VIP room. I'm settled in w/ my customer, just getting ready to start dancing/making money. Then this chick somes in "Oh sorry to interrupt, but I KNOW him." Thne she starts talking to him about all her personal problems and how her life is fucked up. I just sat there trying to conceal how pissed off I was because this isn't the first time she has tried to move in on one of my customers.
We live in a smaller city and it's like "Bitch we all know everyone, that doesn't make it ok."
Well at some point I decide "fuck her I'm going to dance for him anyway." So I start giving him an awesome lapdance and while I'm close I tell him that I don't like to share. He then tells me not to worry, he's not giving her any money. This made me very happy.
Finally she left but came back a couple of hours later bawling her eyes out while I was in the middle of a dance "Oh excuse me, I have to interrupt! They won't let me leave unlesss I have my tipout bwah ha ha ha"
I go, "I have $20 here you go," But she turns to him hoping he'll give her $100 or something. He didn't.
It was a smallish victory, and if there's any point to my rambling, I think it would be: Sometimes you have to be cutthroat or people will walk all over you.
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
omg the worst is when your stuff (cigarettes, little purse, which every girl knows in there i carry) is sitting at a chair... i may have been in the bathroom for a quick sec or I had to speak to managment for a brief moment.. That pisses me off when girls sit down at my seat.... fucking pisses me off big time.
Re: dancers interrupting me when I'm w/ a customer!!!!
It's definatley cos ur new, i had it happen to me too, i always ask the customer if he's waiting for a particular girl when im at a new club and if he's not then i sit down . Also if other girls keep coming over its probably cos he has money so go for it !!
