I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
Every once in awhile, I get customers who won't buy any dances because they know the club takes a cut. WTF? Like last night, I had a guy who said (yeah, right) that he would be willing to spend $100 on me but he wouldn't get the dances for it because the club would've kept $30 of it. So he didn't spend anything at all. I know these guys are full of shit, but this really pisses me off. The club's got to operate and I've got to pay my bills! Is there a smart response to this nonsense??

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
have them tip you to hang out instead of dance for them or give you huge stage tips. guys who are serious about not giving the club a cut will do either or both of these things.

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
Sounds like the customer is fishing for a hooker. He was looking to have you say that you would meet him somewhere else to earn the money, then the club wouldn't get a cut.::)
If you want to get down to the truth of wat the customer is really saying, claim that you scam the club, and they don't get any of your money, then see what he says.;)

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
Or just tell him that it's an old policy that's not enforced any longer or is just enforced for the newbies.

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
Unfortunately I can't take your advice, Paris and DW, because this club has a funky system whereupon the customer pays the VIP host before every dance, and then he gives us our cut afterward. It has its advantages and disadvantages, but it makes it impossible to play that particular game. And occasionally it makes it harder to sell dances, because the decent guys don't like paying a man for a lapdance and it's hard to sell repeats when they have to get up and pay for each one first. Plus the VIP host is a little troll who will ignore them and occasionally talk them OUT of buying dances, but that's another issue.

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
I think the hooker scenario is the most likely. I mean, he bought a drink, didn't he?
-
Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
I agree with Emily. If he was interested in buying dances, he'd buy dances. The excuse is crap.

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
Yeah, I think y'all are right. It's true, he paid $10 for two sodas (nude club and no alcohol, but there's still a two-drink minimum and drinks are $5 each, plus there's the cover charge). He wasn't tipping anyone onstage, either. I know this particular guy was full of shit, but I get this line a lot from guys who ARE tipping. I didn't think it might be a hooker thing, but I guess it is. That also explains why he was getting so frustrated and kept explaining his position over and over... ha. I can be pretty clueless about that kind of thing!
Jackasses.

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
Maybe he has an issue with the owners??? I still give mad LUV and props to some of the little angels (ok.. some were little devils but that's still cool) who work at the club where I got hurt (maimed) so I hate the fact that those @@$#%^&^&%^&%&'s (Owners not the staff) get a dollar from anybody or anything but still gladly tell people to check out so & so if they are out that way.
The @$#$%#^^^*^*^*^, piece of $*!T owners of said club also own other businesses and have screwed over people in those areas of endeavor also so have many people that hate their $%$^&%^*&^%*&^$&$$%&%IN guts but still have to see their fav's at the club. Damn I'm a feisty tiger today!!! Anyway's, as alway's, just playin the DEVIL'S accountant... oh I mean advocate.

Could it be perhaps that this is what the problem actually is? Perhaps he's been back there before and didn't enjoy the experience because the procedure the club made him endure to make that experience happen was beyond what he could tolerate. Guys who truly like lap dances don't want to stop at just one after all.
Personally, I've never stopped buying dances because the club was "taking a cut", and have never said any such thing to a dancer's face, but I will say that in some clubs, my spending has been detered somewhat by the environment that a club which takes a steep cut of a dancer's earnings creates. Namely the incessant high-pressure hustle tactics to sell the dances, the pestering for an additional tip after finishing, and in a few cases stuff that would be considered borderline ROB scams.
At one club I went to last summer, the customer didn't have to prepay for dances in the VIP, but a floater counted how many songs a dancer was back there and charged her for them on the way out. As a result, whether you were back there for two songs or twenty, the dancers were literally in a hurry to leave once the last song was finished (so they didn't get charged for a song they didn't perform), and barely had time to put their clothes back on much less thank the customer for his patronage, (which kind of dimishes the whole point of VIP, doesn't it?).
I mean, if thats the kind of treatment a customer is going to get for spending his money, he may soon feel there is a disincentive to do so.

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
The clubs I work at in the small towns on bookings for the most part work by a pay the DJ or doorguy for a dance ticket, and they pay for their dances as they go. The club keeps $5 per dance, and we get our dance monies at the end of the night. The club's cut covers the weekly base pay we get.
I really don't like the system because in some clubs it does cost a little repeat business, but the guys know the ropes and lots of times they go up and buy tickets from the DJ for dances with a particular girl and she doesn't even know it.
Your guy was full of shit. Part of the problem I think you have Yekhefah, is that the clubs where you are are known for gouging the customers by having dances that cost more than $20, and playing 2 minute songs. That is the drawback with those laws in LA making full bar topless clubs have such restrictive laws, thus forcing the guys who want contact dances into juice bars where the owners don't have a lucrative liquor license to attract more volume so they can make decent profits off of alcohol and not have to overcharge for sodas.

Where are you now, Yehky? o.O;

You are on a roll this week, aren't you, Yekehfa?

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
I've been at the Seventh Veil in Hollywood. Dunno if I'm going back. I'm going through something of a crisis right now. I don't want to dance anymore, but I need money.

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
"Oh my gosh that's so sweet of you to worry about my money... but don't worry, I took that into consideration when I decided to dance here."
-
Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
"Well you could just give me the money directly to entertain you here for the same number of songs, plus I'll stick around for a free one if you like" ;)
This is usually just a case of a guy looking for a hooker, even if he's tipping. Some PLs will tip a few bucks while looking for their takeout. The line above will generally get him to put up or shut up rather quickly.

EEEEEEK! I'm so sorry to hear about this, honey! You'd probably be better off working in a bikini bar. I went into SV a few times as a custy and the girls were doing badly. You are far too awesome to be mixed up in that.
Ever check out Fantasy Island or Star Garden? I hear the stage tips are decent. And better than showing your pussy for 3 dollars onstage.

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
The Veil has changed a lot! They got new management about three or four months ago and it's completely not the same club. I never went in there before but I know its reputation. I really like it there, actually. The people are all really cool and easy to get along with, and it's not as sleazy as the other clubs I've been to in L.A.
Fantasy Island was dead when I checked it out, and Star Garden isn't my scene. SG wanted five days a week guaranteed too, which I can't do. To be honest, I've done nude, topless, and bikini, and I'm most comfortable with nude. And I enjoy a good lapdance much more than a stage show. No lapdances at all at Star Garden... DULL! ;)

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
We get a fair number of those customers also - wtf is with that?!
I worked in a club that had a simular system as yours for a while and I always thought it came across really badly!
I just flat out tell people what I think of the stupid point they just made - afterall every customer that has said it to me drinks and the club makes shitloads off of the alcahol too. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. I also suggest they come see me when Im on stage and tip me there instead. Bloody bastards, lol!

Well, I'm glad to hear it's working out for you. I tried getting a job there a few months ago and they never called me back. They said there were too many girls there for me to audition that night so they just took my number down. I figured it was for the best since I hadn't heard many good things about it from the girls at Cheetah's. I honestly don't mind working nude, but I just figured it was a dump like the rest of the nude clubs in Hollywood.
Maybe I'll stop back in there one of these days and say hello. I'm not into getting lapdances really, but I'll be sure to throw you some cash on stage.
PM me your schedule if you want...

Re: I don't want the club to make any money, so you won't either.
Tell 'em it's that way ALL OVER. The club cannot cover their expenses as a business by selling juice and soft drinks, so they must collect a portion of VIPs. (Basically you cannot be responsible because they do not know how businesses are run. You have to do an end-run.)
Tell 'em the only alternative is to buy your time in a table dance or sexy conversation where you will be able to keep all the tips.
If they still refuse, you know they are fishing for 'take-out' or they will not bet satisfied at any club.
