Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Black Diamond doesn't tangle up on me, and I have a weird texture of hair (Guyanese/Dominican). I mention my hair's texture, because I often glue in, and blend the hair with my own, and it still does well.

You can't be using Bohyme hair then...Either the hair "claims" to be Bohyme and isn't, or your hairdresser isn't using correctly :-\ Oh, and why do you need 2 bundles?? That's alot..
I use Black Diamond as well. It's a smaller company to the Bohyme hair, it's Remy hair as well. That hair is $40 per bundle and I keep my hair in for 3 months (could be kept in longer but my hair is au natural) and I've never had a problem with is tangling, bunching, falling out, etc.
Also, what products are you putting on your hair? What styling methods are you using? Are you wrappying your hair every night, and tying it down? When you shampoo it, do you condition as well? What about drying..it is dry completely?
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Yeah Cin^^^.
Too, I wonder what texture of hair ur using Ms. Tatum? I mean, curly, or straight?, and heavy products will definately have plenty to do with how long your hair lasts.
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Try the Luxie Collection
comes in Luxie Gold, Platinum or Remi quality. Google it and see if there is a dealer near you or a site that sells it. I but it here in LA. It's what all the celebs use and the price is good and the quality is unreal! Highyl recommend it!
People can't even tell I have extensions. You can't get a better match up...comes in all textures and it's 'young' hair. Each strand is hand picked.
Check it out
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Couldn't find Luxie hair anywhere online :(
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Crap...wonder if it's only available here in LA?
Hair Galleria

I will search around for you as well and see if there is any other sites selling it.
The Luxie Remi is Indian Hair. I believe they have their own supplier of hair.
I like the 'young' Indian hair and russian hair is great too.
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Cool Sassy, I'm always searching for good weave too!!!
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
www.hisandher.com
Another great place in LA but you can order on line. The store is HUGE! But I'm telling you...they have EVERYTHING!
Jayda you would love this store! Check it online...and great prices!

Re: The Best Hair Extensions
It was genuine Bohyme hair, I was refered to this store by the manufacturer.I use 2 bags because you are suppose to with a full sew in 1 bag doesnt look full enough for my standards.I like the full silky curly movie star look.I've been to the BEST hairdressers and they always say 2 is better.
Anyway I bought Remi Indian hair of a website today, It's $300 a bag but I think it will be worth or , or I hope it will.I'm too lazy to wrap, its just too overated..lol I just go back everytime it's messed up.My hairdresser conditions it.I think it was a bad batch of hair.It was silky straight and I got a roller set and kept the curls tight.Maybe the method they used to roller set my hair did not agree with the hair.Whatever!
I want to try glue but I heard it makes your hair fall out.I never had a problem with hair before until now.

Full sewn in as in your hair is braided and then the track is sewn on? If that's the case then you're hairdresser wasn't as good as you thought. I've never used 2 full bags of hair. I like my hair to look natural, not heavy and "weave-ish" like Beyonce lol..
My hairdresser is one of the best as well..(she's traveled the country and the world) her experience is 1 of a kind! 1 1/2 is all she recommends. But hey everyone has their opinions right..
Oh and I woudn't recommend glue especially if you don't go to a stylist who has experience putting it in, and removing it. I really don't recommend anyone using the bonding method, it isn't safe for the hair. And if applied incorrectly could lead to tangling, hair breakage and/or hairloss.
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
MsTatum try Mega Glue...it doesn't harm your hair and when you want to take your extensions out it crumbles with just a little bit of acetone. My hair is in amazing condition....super healthy!
I think you'll love the Remi hair! It's well worth the money...and you'll love the feel and luster!
But try Mega Glue....works great!
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Thanks Sassy will do. 8)
My hairdresser first braids my hair in a circular pattern, then places a 7x7 square net over it.After she sews the hair in.I use two bags with some always left over and I always have a million dollar undectetable hair do.There are some pics of one of my most recent hairstylyes in the gallery and that was like damn near 2 bags. And, No, my hair never looks bulky. It's always soft and very classy.I would never be caught dead with bulky, nor heavy, "Bomqueesha" hair. :-\ .My look is my most major selling asset. My customers always think its my hair and most of the dancers. }:D
I'm international so I rarely get to use the same hairdresser twice.I just find the most expensive and reptuble hairdresser. The last one did not do her job as I liked but she kind flat ironed it today so that it has the long Naomi Cambell look.It looks good but I 'm waiting for my REMI hair. ;D .I heard a lot of good stuff about it.I'm going blonde!!!!!!!! ;D.
GOOD LUCK WITH ALL YOUR WEAVES
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
P.s Jayda...... I'm Guyanese Too!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
great lengths.....it is protein bonded to your hair and the up-keep is included in the price
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Where Is That Done? And Exactly What Is The Method Used?
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
i always do my own extensions. theyre glue in, two packets of 14-16" hair costs me about 60 bucks and no one can tell its not my hair. i found the perfect match! generally they last for about a month before i pull them all out and give my scalp a break but they could last longer if you do the upkeep and pull out/reglue loose tracks. its really easy! the majority of the girls at my club wear them. one of the girls (she has "black" hair texture) just keeps putting the same tracks in month after month and it looks beautiful and natural.
as for it pulling out hair... i dont think it really pulls out any more than would naturally fall out. you naturally loose a lot of hair and the glue bonds just hold it all in so when you take them out it looks like you just lost a ton but its only a normal amount. my hair does feel thinner when i take out my extensions but i think thats just because i get so used to having that super thick extension hair.
you can see some pictures of me with my extensions on this page...

Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Wow It Looks Really Natural...what Kind Of Glue Do You Use And How Do You Remove It?
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
i cant remember the name of the glue right now. its in a white bottle with red writing and a red cap. its the only kind ive seen for sale at the beauty supply store i go to (i know sallys carries it as well). if im just replacing a track or two i just comb the glue out (not super easy but it works) and reglue the track. if im taking out all my extensions i pull all the tracks out (they come out easy if youve had them for a few weeks) and then saturate the glue-y sections of hair with the glue remover oil they sell at the beauty shop. then i comb out as much as i can, hop in the shower and wash my hair really well with the glue disolving shampoo (also at beauty store), dry and comb out again. usually it takes a day or two for my hair to seem back to normal but its not a big deal.
if you dont want to have the break between your extension set you can just put them back in again after getting the glue out. plenty of the girls at my work wear extensions constantly with no problems.
let me know if you have any other questions
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Thanks I think I know the glue you are talking about. Is it black?
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
the glue itself is white but it dries clear. its not visible in your hair at all.

Like CK i also would have thought that 2 packs of hair would be too much but after taking a peek at your pic in the gallery i have to say your hair looks great! Your stylist did a fab job. You're gorgeous too.

Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Don't do Fusions OR Great Lengths!! It WILL pull your hair out!!! It took me a minute to grow my hair back!! Stick to sew-in extensions or au natural!! It's not just hair shedding, either. Your hair will be pulled out!!
Re: The Best Hair Extensions
Thanks seraya...I appreciate it
