Houston clubs not requiring license
Hello girls! First of all thanks for reading this post. Ok here's my question. I was recently working at St. James. Good club easy money but to many girls. The reason I stopped going was because of the drama. Anyway I don't have a license and I really don't wanna get it because of the fact that it comes out on background checks. Does anyone know of an other good money making clubs in houston that don't require a license? Thanks!
Re: Houston clubs not requiring license
it comes out on background checks??
Re: Houston clubs not requiring license
Well thats is what a manager told me so I though it might be true.
Re: Houston clubs not requiring license
It may show up on a background check by the police but not anyone else, not the public, not employers,etc.. unless you are busted/ticketed. Then that arrest, if convicted, will show up. I think, they know the risk of letting licensing info out in terms of a dancers safety and therefore it probably is excluded from the Open Records Act ....in my opnion.
Try Heartbreakers, it is outside of Harris County and does not need a license.
Re: Houston clubs not requiring license
Thanks! I'll look into that club. Do you know what the club is like?
Re: Houston clubs not requiring license
I used to go there often as a customer. It is way south (opposite of St. James). It has more of a sports bar feel. Mostly blue collar clientele. Good luck.
Re: Houston clubs not requiring license
Just stay in the unincorporated portion of Harris County.

Have you spoken to anyone at the new place? www.dbcoopersmansion.com
I read it was pasties, full bottoms, and air dances until they get their SOB license next month. Probably worth at least checking it out.

'Professional Licenses' are part of the public record and are not considered priveleged information under the Freedom of Information Act, any more so than 'Professional Licenses' for doctors, nurses, plumbers or electricians. Thus any prospective employer, family member, or Joe Schmuck off the street with $5 for the photocopy fee can get the names and addresses of licensed dancers from the local city hall .... unless of course the specific local dancers' licensing law creates a specific right to privacy for dancers' licenses, which extremely few of them do.
Re: Houston clubs not requiring license
houston's dance licence laws are pretty private. i had a valid dance licence and it never showed on background checks for the straight job(s) i worked at the time. you're safe in houston, unless you get arrested, which is separate from the licence.
Re: Houston clubs not requiring license
My license never showed on any background checks, although I am sure a very thorough check would show it, like by a government entity, obviously.

Ditto (mine doesn't show up either;) Its not considered a "professional license" in Houston. Its a totally different thing than those issued to doctors etc.
