Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Okay so my new club has music rules that are killing me lol... Upstairs is a gown club and I need 'mainstream' easy listening rock music that has no swear words and everyone knows ::) Stuff like Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson are a bit too hard for the club(the guys look at me like im crazy when I dance to it'. So i've been stuck using Saliva - Always and a few songs by Breaking Bengamin. I need some new stuff.. anything I can really think of is intimidating to the white collar customers there. So any ideas? I really shouldnt have a hard time with this but I really am. I've also used a bit of Seether and 12 Stones... but im getting bored with my stuff :(
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Incubus has some great stuff, you might like them...
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Gaaaaag. In those situations I stick to classic rock--Rolling Stones, Led Zepplin, Blue Oyster Cult, Jimi Hendrix--and blues because I totally hate most Top 40 rock.
Oh, I bet you can dance to Queens of the Stone Age. "Little Sister," "In My Head," "No One Knows" are all good and I don't think have any obvious cursing.
[edit] By the way, when I saw the thread title I thought maybe they wanted you to dance to Billy Joel, Rupert Holmes, and Kenny G. Easy listening is a far cry from the bands you mentioned, thank god. [/edit]
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Maybe Audioslave? "Cochise," for example? Or "Like a Stone," though it might be a little slow...

If a big gun was at my head, I might play that...
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Don't forget Nickleback. ;)
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Good god, I hope you're joking, Cally hates Nickelback, lol...
Can't say as I blame her--I think the majority of what they play on the radio by this band is awful--even if I love some of the songs they never play, like the ones with balls.
The first time I heard Nickelback, it was when a doorman brought their first big CD up and said I should play "How You Remind Me" for one of the dancers--their worst song ever, in my opinion.
After doing so I wrote "Nickelback SUCKS!" somewhere, so I would remember never to play them again.
Imagine my surprise when I heard three or four kickass songs from the same CD, a few months later! Of course, you'll never hear them on the radio, or in the vast majority of stripclubs, stuck firmly in Top 40 rock and/or pop mode.
Well, sorry to get going on about this, and remember--THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION. I am not speaking as Moderator, as we are not arbiters of what is good or bad music. I am giving my private opinion, that's all.

Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Sorry, I always do that--it's a running joke amongst my friends, lol...
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
I agree with Susan, stick to the classic rock and blues playlist.
Rolling Stones - "She's a Rainbow"
Zombies - "She's Not There"
Bob Seger - "Mainstreet"
Tommy James and the Shondells - "Crystal Blue Persuasion"
Troggs - "Wild Thing"
Easybeats - "Sorry"
Creation - "Biff Bang Pow"
Beatles - "Ticket to Ride"
Led Zepplin - "Black Dog"
Howlin' Wolf - "Spoonful"
Cally, I'm not sure about some of these since the Creation might be a bit too obscure, the Led Zepplin song might be too hard, and Howlin Wolf might frighten the clientele. I'm scratching my head, "familiar and not too hard" doesn't leave much to choose from. Otherwise you may have to come up with a set featuring the Carpenters and Captain and Tennielle. If you're ever in that situation the noise you hear is Djoser firing the gun pointed at his head.
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
trapt, shinedown, hoobastank (if you like them).... im more of a hard rocker though...
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
As am I Kamryn... I like stuff like Pantera, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Limp Bizket, Metallica etc... Im going to go with stuff like Trapt n Three Days Grace... im sure I can find something by them lol... thanks guys :D
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
You can't go wrong with AC/DC; I'm big on "Back in Black," "Dirty Deeds," and "You Shook Me" in particular. I also have a set that is "Cherry Pie" by Warrant and "I Love Rock & Roll" by Joan Jett. The crowd you described tends to love the Rolling Stones, the Doors, the Beatles, etc.
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Oh yeah, you might not like this, but I also find that they like 70's funk. In a club where everyone's dancing to the same five songs all night, I stand out and do well with a little Rick James, Chaka Khan, George Clinton, even Patti LaBelle. But not everyone can pull this off; you have to really like the music.
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
Billy Idol - Dancing With Myself
Bush - Mouth (Remix)
Chevelle - Until You're Reformed
Collective Soul - Shine
Craig Armstrong - This Love **Very Slow & seductive sound I like this tune**
Dave Matthews Band - Crash (Fatboy Slim Remix)
Deftones & Tool - Hover
Eric Clapton - Pilgrim **song has a great rythem to it does not sound like classic rock**
Garbage - #1 Crush
Lenny Kravitz - I Belong To You
Ozzy Osbourne Ft Lita Ford - Close My Eyes Forever
Peter Cabriel - Sledgehammer
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Tear
Santana Ft Everlast - Put Your Lights On
Stone Temple Pilots - Lady Picture Show
Tom Petty - Honey Bee
Weezer - Say It Aint So

Hell yes, George is my hero...
But if you're a rock girl, you might not like him. No point in trying to dance to something you don't like.
Good advice, Yekhefah!
Re: Need 'easy listening' Rock music..
I second the Incubus suggestion. Good songs by them are "Drive," "Wish You Were Here," and "Nice To Know You." The Audioslave suggestion was a good one too. "Like A Stone" is kind of slow, but it's a great song. Other good Audioslave songs are "Gasoline," "Show Me How To Live," "Cochise," and "Doesn't Remind Me."
Other ideas:
Chevelle-"The Red," "Send The Pain Below"
Jackyl-"Down on Me," "I Stand Alone"
Tom Petty has lots of great songs
The Black Crowes-"Hard To Handle," "Remedy," "Jealous Again"
Trapt-"Headstrong"
Shinedown-"I Dare You"
Silvertide-"Devil's Daughter"
Blink 182-"Dammit"
Seether-"Fine Again," "Remedy," "The Gift"
Foo Fighters-"Everlong," "Monkey Wrench," "Learn To Fly," "DOA"
Weezer-"Say It Ain't So" was already mentioned, that's a good song, there's also "Buddy Holly," "Beverly Hills," and "Perfect Situation"
