pain in my fingers(only) from pole? dont think its CTS
i just starting learning new pole tricks( i have done old school spins and such for like 10 yrs, but now im doing inversons and more difficult stuff) and i have noticed pain in my fingers..i did a search here and found others with similiar problems but they included the whole hand and numbness. I have none of that. it is in both hands, the three middle fingers and in the first joint( near the nail) it feels jammed or something and is only really sore( hard to bend ) after I wake up from sleeping or a nap...any ideas on what might be the problem..is this normal? thanks! :'(

It might pass after a while. If I use my kayak, and it's been a while, I will sometimes get a certain pain in the base of the thumb, from putting an unaccustomed strain on it--and it passes after a week or two. Hitting the bag will produce a bit of pain in the middle joints of tthe fingers, even if I wear wraps and gloves, which will also tend to pass.
Most people do not use their hands and fingers anywhere near the way you are when you do serious pole tricks, lol...
If it's really painful you might want to ease up a bit on the new tricks, give it a rest for a week or two, or just do them occasionally, then get back into them seriously after it gets better.

I think you've strained your flexor digitorum profundus - this is a long muscle that runs from your elbow and splits, going to each of your fingertips. It lets you curl your hand into a fist. If you suddenly put too much stress on it, like by starting to do pole inversions, the joining between the muscle and the finger bones (the "insertion") will start getting pulled apart - you're putting more strain on the insertion than it can deal with.
Djoser's right, best plan is to ease off on the pole tricks completely for a couple of weeks and let your hands recover, then reintroduce them gently to build up your muscle strength at a speed your body can keep up with... you don't want to end up with ruptured tendons - this requires surgical repair. Make sure you keep your fingers moving while you're staying off the pole so they don't seize up. Let us know how you get on ;)

i use my hands a lot. i've been playing guitar/drawing/writing/painting (and not to mention typing) alternately from day to day for the last 10 years at least. i get cramps in my hands from the wrist down to the top little bends in my fingers. i also get burning from my wrist up through my thumb from time to time. it will fair up (as djoser) said, for a few weeks at a time and then go away for a couple months. i find that using those self heating sticky pads (ben-gay and etc) a few times a day helps. of course, you can't really wear them at work, but putting one on when you get home or when you're off will help a bit. mine tends to be more like yours in that i get finger pain much more than "whole hand" pain. i haven't really gotten the numbness either, only on very rare occasion *knock on wood*. i would try the warm pads or creams for a bit, and also do little stretches with your fingers a few times a day. spread them all out, stretch them, and slowly move them into and out of fists (kind of like making really slow cat clawing motions).
