Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
I am a little bit discouraged right now. I auditioned at Camelot and was hired to work nights. I filled out all the paper work and everything and they told me to set up my voicemail. They told me to call on Sunday to get my schedule. I shook the manager's hands and they congratulated me and said, "See you next week." When Sunday came around, I called and the manager said I was on call all week and so I would have to call every night to see if they need me. I call every night but so far, no one has called out and I haven't worked.
Maybe someone who is familiar with Camelot can tall me if this is standard for new girls or if I'm getting the run around. I was of the opinion that this is the best club in the city and I was really happy to get hired here but now I'm losing my confidence and thinking they really don't want me! I am probably being paranoid as usual but this is a bit unnerving!

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
How long has it been? When did you get hired?
I haven't worked there before. But I have worked at another club in the DC area. The clubs in the area usually make the girls follow a strict schedule with a weekly booking/schedule a week or two in advance.
I suggest the next time you call to "check in" to see if anyone has called out, you should tell the manager that you are excited about working there and you wanted to know how long does it usually take for a dancer to get on the regular schedule. And maybe ask him some follow up questions about scheduling. Like what day is it usually done, if you should call on that day or notify them of your availability in person. It may be easier to come in when it's not busy when the manager who hired you is there. Tell him that you were in the neighborhood and wanted to drop by and say hello. Then ask him the questions....
Good luck.

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
I got hired last Thurday I believe. I have worked in DC before so I know how the whole scheduling thing works but I'm just a bit baffled that they would hire me and then not put m eon schedule. I have put in my schedule request for next week and the schedule is available on Sunday. I asked if I will be put on schedule for next week and they said yeah so we'll see. Maybe it was just an oversight or something.
I just wanted to know if this was the norm or what. Maybe they weed out the girls who don't call to see if they have to work and are not really serious about showing up and working. I mean, no one has called out ALL WEEK! How strange is that for a strip club? These are some dedicated girls!

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
How weird. Lilke I said, I have never worked there, but I have heard that there is a longer delay getting onto the schedule, especially weekend nights at Camelot. I think all you can really do is go through the motions for the next two Sundays and see what happens. If you check out the club reviews, both reviews indicate that there is a really long booking delay.
I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help.

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
I know it's a long delay but JEEEEEZ! I mean, I need money. I'm thinking of going up to baltimore b/c I'm sure I can work immediately up there.
You have been helpful, thanks!

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier.
The scheduling at Camelot has sort of a Zen quality to it. There is a "regular" schedule, posted on the web site, available by phone call-in using your code at midnight on Sunday for the dancers who've put in their schedule requests that week. There are no guarantees that anybody will get their requested days, or even get on the schedule at all. And I'm talking about the regulars.
Scheduling is completely and strictly controlled by management. The girls don't call out very often because it's an easy way to get dropped off the schedule. (Also, if you are on the schedule, show up for work early, especially on nights, or you will find yourself replaced because they assume you are about to call out.) Management used to allow the girls off the schedule to come in and double with a girl on the schedule (kind of a buddy system) but they halted that completely a while back. It's now come back in the summer, when it's a bit slower.
It's possible to get back on the schedule if you've been dropped from it, but my best advice is just don't let that happen. It's way, way too difficult and complicated. Camelot is a place where you need to observe the rules.
Here's the deal in your situation. When you put in your schedule request, go ahead and call J and let him know that you are excited to start (technically, P puts the schedule together, but they work as a team). Going to the club as a customer is also a good idea, so your face becomes more familiar. Go and hang with some other dancers working that night and it will really improve your chances, because the managers often sit with us at the tables.
It's possible to make good money at Camelot, which sometimes surprises people because it's a nude club with alcohol, but no lap dancing and no VIP. If you want to work in Bmore, as I'm sure you know, it's more the regular club model where laps and VIP are the norm.
Good luck! Oh, and if you go to the website and see your name announced on the front page as a new dancer, that's always a good sign.

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
Oh thanks! You gave great information and now I don't feel as worried. You seem really nice and I can't wait to actually start working there so I can meet you in person!
I'm going to really try to get up there tonight as a customer.

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
For anyone following this, I was put on call again this week. But I was also told that the owner was going to put me on as soon as possible. I wa assured that I do in fact work there, it's just a really packed schedule. I'll be patient....

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
Jordan-do not, I repeat DO NOT work on the block unless it is the hustler club. All those clubs are basically havens for extras. There are three other clubs in the baltimore city area, hustler, nightshift and the ritz. I have never worked at any of these clubs, so I can't really give you the run down. I hear hustler is more of a long hustle, you have to talk more, nighshift, the girls go on stage a lot, and I'm not really sure what's up with the ritz. There's also gold club, which troublemaker could give you some more info on if you pm her. (I see from her posts in other threads she works there). There's also the wagon wheel, which is near the city on route 40, near the gold club. I hear it's very very high contact there, but I've never been inside. Fantasies is nearby the city, as well as mcdoogals. Fantasies is high drama from what I hear and it's not easy to sell a lap dance. Mcdoogals is al nude lap dances and you'll be competing against a lot of girls. All these clubs are lap dance clubs, there are others in bmore county where you only do stage and obviously dont' make as much money. Hope this helps. (girls who actually work at some of these clubs feel free to chime in)

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
I work at Hustler right now while I am still waiting to get on schedule at Camelot (I don't see it happening but whatever...) I was just hired yesterday and I start Saturday day but it is the best club on the block, if not in Baltimore. All the other block clubs are absolute TRASH.

Sounds like the manager at Good Guys was smoking some powerful stuff . . .

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
Really.... I worked there and that is no upscale gentlemens anything.
-
Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
I worked at goodguys as well about 5 years ago. I don't know how anyone could possibly consider GG's to be upscale. It's a spread club for christ sake!!!
-
Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
Oh but wait!!!! They don't do floor work b/c that's not classy. This is what I was told when I started there back in 2001....
-
Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
And everything else at GG's is soooooo classy. What a joke.

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
thank you so much for the input. whats a good money night in md?
-
Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
Hmmm.... I guess it varies. I was easily making $300-$500 a night when I was working at the Stardust but I only made $100 a shift working at Good Guys. I'm hoping for at least $300 a night at Hustler. I think that's reasonable...

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
ok. this gg club is amusing.lol. i forgot to mention that i went to nexus. also strange. was given application an told id be called in 2 weeks for an interview. and this was by a door girl. no one even like looked at me to check me out.
-
Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
Yeah, nexus is not the way to go. The house fees are outrageous for the money dancers make.
-
Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
When I was hired at Camelot, I worked three shifts my first week, no on call. I didn't know that was unusual until I actually worked there and the girls all looked at me like the I blew the manager or something. (For the record, not even...)
It's hard to get hired there; there is money to be made. You should be able to work in another week or so. At least you have your job at Hustler to tide you over. Glad to hear you're getting away from Hustler at least. Run away!!!!!!!
-
Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
luscious-hows hustler? thats where you at right?
-
Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
Yep. I've been there on the two worst nights because I haven't been making much money. But the dancers and the managers saud that was not typical. No one made money last night....But there is supposed to be money there so I'll stick around. I haven't seen any of the evil Deja Vu things that girls talk about yet so I'm pretty happy.

Re: Anyone Familiar w/Camelot (DC) Scheduling?
well thats good. auditioned at crystal city yesterday. that was about the prettiest group of very nice girls ive been in a club with in a long time. same scheduling thing though. its been made for the next 2 weeks already. i can call in for no shows if i want. the girls said its pretty hard to get started and to be persistant. they all seemed very happy there. i just cant imagine how big the money is w/no dances. was thinking of running over there for a while. did it take you long to start?
