I used "Over" by Portishead--cool song, but in retrospect, a bit slow and depressing. If I were auditioning today, I might try "Bossy" by Kelis. You can move slowly to it, but it has a great beat behind it.

Oh Lord. Let me see, I believe mine was "Like a Pimp" by David Banner, hah! And yes, other rap songs like Wait (The whisper song) and Play by David Banner as well. I swear to god everyone up here uses that Santa Monica song by Theory of a Deadman for their floor shows. I am sorely tempted to use Playground Love by Air but I think it's too slow. It just has a saxy beat to it.
I've danced to "Playground Love" before. It's a good one for the very end of the night.
Swanky! I can't stop listening to it. Hah
cold by static x.
i swear to this day it is my best tipped song as well. weird.
I didn't officially 'audition' but the first song I ever danced to was "Hollywood" by Madonna. LOL
I thought it was fitting since I was dancing at Crazy Girls, a pretty well known club off the Sunset Strip.

When I first started dancing, my audition song was "Cowboy" by Kid Rock. How's that for an overplayed strip club song? :P
I hate thinking about it. I did an amature night and did not know what to pick.......the DJ ushered me onstage assuring me hed pick something good....the first song was jungle boogie which was ok, the second was Hootchie mama by 2 live crew......I shudder to think about it, ick. I still won that amatre night, bad music and all. My advice, always go prepared.
Oh boy...this was a long time ago.
