How often are you on stage?
I'm just curious. I know that many girls working at large clubs with lots of other dancers only go on stage a couple times a shift. How common is that? I make good money at my club, but it's smaller. I've been working there a year. I've been on shift with 13 other girls and I've been on shift by myself (maybe 4 times) and everything inbetween depending on the season. Also, at my club (the WORST thing about my club) you have to go on stage regaurdless of wether or not you're giving dances to a customer, VIP or otherwise. This can make things VERY difficult when we don't have a long rotation for the day. Anyway I just did the math and figured out that I usually go up on stage between 10 - 25 times a shift depending on how many girls we have. that's between 20 and 75 songs depending on wether we do 2 or 3 song sets. I figured out that the most songs I danced on stage in one shift was probably around 100. I go through shoes like fucking crazy and I get super exhausted when the roatation is short. I've also figured out that I make more money the less times I have to go on stage, since most of my money comes from dances and stage time makes me lose floor time. Is anyone else here in the same situation or do most of you only go up a couple times a day/night?
*edited to add that my shift is 7 hours long.. since that's part of the equation*

Re: How often are you on stage?
Wow... I work in a club that has 12 girls on a busy night and the girls only go on stage maybe four times from 7pm - 2am. They do three song sets. The club will play break songs if its slow. The other club im at will have 20ish girls on a busy night and when I work a 3pm - 3am shift I still only do 4 maybe 5 shows on 4 song sets.
I think its time you find a new club because that is seriously not right. Your going to end up with burn out and poor.

Re: How often are you on stage?
Haha! I work at a tiny place where there are 4-5 girls on a busy night. I am currently working day shift, which is 5 hours long...ALONE. It is usually slow, so I can dance whenever I want, and it's okay to practice on the pole rather than put on an actual "show".

Re: How often are you on stage?
I work in a hole in the wall and the girls are EXTREMELY inconsistent... one night we will have 15 some nights we will have 3..
So I go through weeks where I am too tired to move because I have been on stage ALL night.... to days were I am relaxed and happy.
It has its good points and bad... on nights when we are short staffed, I get ALOT of attention which I like.... but am exhausted from being on stage.....
On nights when the girls show up... The older experienced dancer clean house... and us newer girls feel.... well you can guess how we feel.

Holy crap, I don't think they even play that many songs during the entire duration of my shift. They might, but that would be SEVEN HOURS SOLID! Oy. And here I was bitching about how much we have to go up in Portland. Don't get me wrong -- I like dancing on stage and I'm happy that in PDX you actually make money up there. But after about the fifth time up in a night, I'm pretty much done. I think I went up nine times last night due to a serious dancer shortage. We too can't get skipped when we're doing dances. Well, you can, but it's not frequent and definitely not automatic.
To answer the original question: Usually I will go up on stage roughly once an hour. I think this is a lot since I danced in larger clubs for so long where you'd go up once or twice a night (or pay your way off).

Re: How often are you on stage?
I have the same problem We will have 3 sets with 3 or 4 girls on each set. They play 4 songs. They also Pull you alway from your dance to go on stage. It hurts my money so bad. And Like you It kicks the shit out of me I'm so tired from being up I dont want to dance in back. I'm think about going to a bigger club with more girls. But I feel your pain.

Re: How often are you on stage?
At very most, I'll do no more than 4 stages in a night, all depending how busy it is at the club. My last day in New Brunswick, I did 5 stages... it was crazy...

Re: How often are you on stage?
i hate the way the owner treats the girls at my club. thes eare his rules, not the djs or managers. the managers feel bad about it, and sometimes they let things slide. basically our owner doesn't care if the girls are tired or getting worn out, what he cares about is the guys seeing a stage show and seeing as many girls rotate as possible so they stick around and buy drinks. i just feel stuck because...
1. i feel comfortable there because i know everyone and i, for the most part, love the staff
2. i'm in tampa, and it's just difficult to find good money on day shift in tampa at a club that doesn't allow extras and has decent management
3. i -do- make good money, and that's the #1 reason i find it hard to leave. i just feel like i could make more at the right club.... but finding a club worth leaving mine for is proving difficult.
i'm thinking about working 1 shift a week (probably topless or nude) in another city. that way i can stay at my current club (it's bikini) and work another club on the DL once in awhile for extra money. i thought about working at mons venus once or twice a month (i know it's in tampa... so i might get caught) since they don't require a minimum ammount of shifts. i'm just nervous about it because i'm not used to a high hustle nude environment. i don't know if i could make any money there. from what i've heard the girls are mostly large chested, blonde, and cut-throat. *eeps*

exactly the problem. sometimes i don't.. or i have to "squeeze them in" between sets. it's not all of the the time, but loss of money is loss of money.. and on those days when i *know* i could have made 100-200 more, it gets irritating.

Re: How often are you on stage?
Normally 5ish times.. depends how busy it is.. if its dead then we dont keep pulling the jug out.. all depends really.
:).. I agree.. is knackering.. you must have some stamina!!

Re: How often are you on stage?
Only like 3 or 4 times a shift. My club has 25 girls....
-
Re: How often are you on stage?
We just go on once an hour,so that would be 7-8 times a night, but clubs in DC only have stage shows.
-
Re: How often are you on stage?
My club has so many dancers I only see the stage maybe 3 or 4 times a night. If you are giving a dance, you don't have to go up on the stage although the DJ prefers if you tell him. If not they'll call a few times then call the next dancer.

Your club sounds just like Star's Cabaret in Salem Oregon!! The owner would sometimes complain to us that we weren't changing our outfits often enough, so that it looks like more dancers are working::).
At that club it is hard to skip a rotation because a dancer is doing a series of lap dances, because the club does not get a cut of the dances. I don't mind HAVING to go on stage, but where it gets really annoying is when there simply isn't enough girls working.
I think a reasonable rotation is 40 minutes to 1 hour between stage shows. Any less and I lose momentem in my work day, any more and I lose lap dance sales.
Man! I wish I owned my own club!

Re: How often are you on stage?
I only went on once a night MAYBE twice if I was almost at the top of the list (new brunswick)
-
Re: How often are you on stage?
There are two rotations: On the hour, or on the Half.
each, obviously a half hour. it's the worst half hour of my life, hahah.

Re: How often are you on stage?
be careful, pretty penny, there are big risks to going to an all nude club. 9 times out of 10 they are cut throat jealous, over protective, and territorial. plus in all nude clubs they run more girls most of the time. i worked with 60 girls a nite!!!!! blonde, fake breasts, baked dark skin, lots of makeup and jewelry. you have to have huge balls to hustle in these clubs because all of the women are physically altered, so no one notices the girl next door type. plus they watch you like a hawk. some things in this line of work are worth the physical inconveniences. like for instance you may make more money faster elsewhere, but at what costs? pressure for extras, abusive management, higher tipouts..... it is very hard to find a feeling of security in this business. better to be safe than greedy. you'll be better off make your money steady in the long run, then risking your neck for a fast buck. i myself am 5'8, 130 pds. 36" 24" 38" auburn hair, pale skin, green eyes. i favor shania twain. they picked me apart, if your not factory made in large clubs, it's tough, and forget about tattoos and piercings..... you sound like overall you are content at your current club, i'd wait til the good season comes around (sept-) see how you do then, there'll probably be more girls working so you won't have such a heavy rotation. best of luck to you!

Re: How often are you on stage?
Hmm, well, my club is stage only, so it doesn't affect our sales, but I have gone up anywhere from 4 times in a 7 hour shift to 28. Doing anywhere from 1 stage with a 3 song set, to dancing on all 5 stages (in sequence) doing 2 song sets on each. Yes, it kicks the shit out of your shoes, and yes it is hell on your body. We have been short staffed on girls so I end up on stage all the time, even if there are no customers. The owner there as well makes us run all 5 stages if we have at least 10 girls, so that guys see 'lots of girls'. Bah, lots of girls and no custies. Smart ::)

Re: How often are you on stage?
I work in a tiny club with only two or three girls on a shift, so I go on stage about every 12-15 minutes! I think I usually do about 15 sets on stage in a five hour shift.

Re: How often are you on stage?
Depends on the day of the week. Anywhere from 3-6 times. I love when I get to go on stage a lot... More money for me! :)
-
Re: How often are you on stage?
Depending on the club, anywhere from once every half an hour to once every two hours. I hate going on stage (takes time away from doing lap dances, which is where the money is) and I like working in clubs where I don't have to go on stage much.

Re: How often are you on stage?
I enjoy going on stage, it's kinda my break from the floor and going around trying to get dances. The nice thing about stage is when someone sees you up on stage and comes up to tip you and asks you to come to their table, it's a done deal for a dance. Whereas, you "cold call" a table and sometimes you get a dance and sometimes you don't. The only time you can get out of going on stage is if you're in VIP for an hour minimum. Otherwise, if you miss your stage set, you get fined $15, each time you miss and if it's something you do on a regular basis, you could probably get in trouble. I'd say, if I had no VIP that night, I'd go on stage probably 8 times per night with 3 song sets. If it's slow, I'll offer to go on stage if they need some extra girls. But I don't think I could do it as much as Pretty Penny, that's a lot!
