I have this problem, im always having to try boots on before buying them. You can take them to a shoe repair place and ask them to bring the calf in some if its the right material, some will, some wont.
Huh. Mine always err on being too tight. Maybe try some leg warmers? Might be a tad hot, but until you could get them fixed. Or cut up some knee high socks and use them the same way?
UGH! I can totally sympathize! My calves are skinny and it's damn near impossible to find boots that fit tight! I have one pair that fit snug but the bottom of the boot is out of date and I look silly wearing them.
Leg warmers will look really funny under the boot because it will be very obvious that the boot is to loose and there is something under it, and knee high socks dont make a difference. You can have a shoe repair cut down the back where the stitching is and tighten it. I used to have it done all the time for my riding boots(horses) and I had it done with a pair of boots for work.
