New and in need of opinions...
So I just discussed the whole idea of exotic dancing with a guy friend of mine. I explained to him my entire situation and he seemed so casual and unsurprised by the whole thing. I really think I need a female opinion on this so I asked him if he could talk to his wife about it. I would also like to know what the ladies on here might think about my entire situation...
I posted this in another forum but it seems to maybe apply better here. This is my story:
I have a situation at the moment where I need to be making a decent amount of money to pay for some medical care, bills, and anything else that may come up (health insurance is running out as well). Unfortunately, because of my health problem, I cannot get a well paying job. The irony is that I do have a college degree, but my health problem is keeping me from getting any entry level job.
So I'm forced to work the part-time store clerk job which does not pay well at all. If i'm lucky, I'll break even by the end of the month, but most likely my funds will continually be going down over time which is NOT GOOD.
My friend seemed to understand what my situation was but told me that if I didn't have to become an exotic dancer to make ends meet not to do it. I'm a very conservative type of girl but after going to a strip club a few weeks ago I felt it would be doable if I find the right club (no nude, topless preferably). What I want to know is if I would be doing this for all the right reasons or if I shouldn't bother. I would be putting myself in a very interesting situation but the thought that I would be paying all of my bills and my treatment with money to spare is very tempting. Let me know your opinions on all of this...
Re: New and in need of opinions...
Try it and if you dont like it you can quit knowing at least that you gave it a go.
I think your reasons are fine, I dont think anyone will judge you for that! (-:
Re: New and in need of opinions...
Give it a shot and if it is not for you, you will know. Just make your own decision and don't let others influence you and get in your head. Good luck.
Re: New and in need of opinions...
I agree that if you think you could handle it go for it. It is not really anyone's business why you do it and the reasons you state do not seem wrong either.
Will your health be affected by you dancing all day or night? Are you really able to be so phyiscally active? These seem to be questions that the answer might have the most influence on if you do it or not...
My best wishes go out to you. I know it must be stressful to not be making enough money to live on. Take good care.

Re: New and in need of opinions...
I really appreciate everyone's input...
Dancing probably wouldn't put too much stress on my body, I've been working out for a while so my legs are in pretty good shape. As for my other health problem, it's a rare condition that isn't really caused by anything in particular so if dancing doesn't make it better it sure isn't going to make it worse.
But it gets more complicated than this.
I live at home with my parents, mostly because of this condition. I did have the opportunity to live away from home closer to Hollywood (I'm a film major) but because of the medical bills ($100 a week and no end in sight) I decided to go back home, take a break, and pursue something where I didn't have to sit for long hours (that's how most of my pain occurs). Unfortunately, my recuperation is very slow and I know it is still going to be a while before I'm better. If I decide to go into stripping I'd have to do it living at home.
I read the thread about the girl that thinks her mom might know about her job. Let's just say my mother wouldn't be as forgiving. We are hispanic Roman catholics so that means just about everything is bad. My next step is to figure out what fabrication I can come up with as a cover. I thought maybe saying I was a club promoter but I dont' know what they do or what hours they work. Is there a thread I can look at that can give me some ideas?
Re: New and in need of opinions...
have you thought about also trying to get government grants??
(along with dancing)
You can apply for as many as you want and apply for free.
Re: New and in need of opinions...
What are government grants? Is that like disability?
