DOPA? Do you pronounce this as "dope-ah"? If so, it means there is finally truth in advertising, courtesy of the U.S. Congress itself! }:DQuote:

I mean they are not barring children from the internet - just online social networking from schools. I am a little less comfortable with barring it from public libraries. I also kind of think they are going about this the wrong way. I think that the vast majority of schools would voluntarily comply.
On a much more serious note than my prior post in this thread, I found the following links re: schools banning MySpace, sometimes not only from the schools, but from a student's home computer as well.Quote:

At my own cenral library, you have to be a minimum of 16 before you are allowed to sign up for free internet access(if this hasn't been challenged in court yet - I have not been paying much attention to their current requirements). This was deemed preferable to filtering content on the 20 or so library computers available for this purpose.
But now my library has recently started offering free WiFi, so I would guess a laptop-owning student of say, age 17, could easily circumvent such a ban by using WiFi and a VPN service(virtual private network, used to increase privacy over public WiFi) anywhere such public WiFi "hotspots" are available.
