good or bad night? I can't decide....
Let me ask you guys an opinion... because right now I am looking at this situation in 2 ways...
Last night, I arrived an hour early to work (we open at 4pm) and my manager (who is awesome) tells me that the club is hosting a bach. party and his is going to push me as the main stripper for the soon to be married groom. The roll in about 8:30, take one look at me and say "Absolutely YES!" Which made me EXTREMELY ;D . So the problem... I was with them until 12 am.... I made $400.... (I know I said I never talk about money... but... this is an exception)
My girlfriend, who I helped get this job (never danced before, heavier girl but very pretty) tells me this morning... That she made $600 and did 24 couch dances....
I guess I am annoyed... I worked my butt off last night, making sure the bachleur his family, groomsemen were happy, having fun, etc.... I was happy with the amount of money they spent and happy I didn't have to work the crowd(which was unruley...to say the least)... But now I am sort of annoyed I didn't make more...
However, I am kind of looking at this as an oppurtunity for later... The best man was sooooooo happy with my entertaining he went to my manager and thanked him, told him he was thrilled with my intelligence, attractiveness, and would "bring any of his loved ones to Classic to do a bach. party" I guess that is good for me, management will recommend me again... Also it makes me look extremely good to management and more desirable to other custys... Right?
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
Yup! Me personally I like to "work smarter and not harder" I'm not saying what you did for the bachelor was a cake walk but you didn't have to HUSTLE at all last night. You got to actually have a good time. Plus since you gained such a great rapport w/ the bachelor and his friends, I'm pretty sure they'll come in again to see you. So again, repeat business.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
it was good until you compared your earnings to someone else?
I guess that makes it good. Not the best in the room, but good. But you probably didn't have to do as many dances, right? It sounds like you sat there and entertained and she was having to rub all over them. So would you rather make $400 to be sitting and talking or $600 to be doing a bunch of dances? The former doesn't sound so bad!
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
^^^good point^^^
I know better to compare.... but this girl, my "friend" always, I meand ALWAYS makes it a point to tell me what she has earned... Even though sometimes management shows me the books...and her totals occasionally are bit exagerated...
This why I generally don't discuss money with other girls...
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
I was thinking that was possible....
I'm not sure what your club is like, but in the ones I worked at, it was hard to make $600 with only 24 dances.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
they could also come back to see you, which may be a slower night, and also maybe just one could come back and make your night. sometimes you have to cut losses (400 is great though) to get your repeat custys.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
maybe you should a) tell your friend not to tell you anymore what she makes, or b) tell her that you know when she's lying so if she is going to be a pain in the ass enough to do this ALL THE TIME then to be honest.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
$400? My policy is to be happy about what I made and not dwell on what I could have made. Just because your friend made $600 doesn't mean that you would have made that much, too. I say it was a good night! Be happy!!
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
I consider it a good night.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
Your friend sounds a little insecure to tell you how much she makes. Don't dwell on it. Sounds like everyone loved you and $400 is not a bad night. In the future I guess I'd stop talking money with her, or I don't know - start telling her you make less than you do and see if her numbers get lower also... ::)
Also, never forget that customers see SO much more than we realize. You can bet guys saw you busy all night, and saw how much fun everyone was having with you. One time after I'd had a real busy shift I had like 3 different customers come in throughout the week who said they'd tried to get dances with me but I was just "so popular" they had to come back for me!

In my club it would be IMPOSSIBLE..... ;)
I did the math...
The more I think about it, the more I get what she is trying to do...
I am sorry for acting like a spoiled brat you guys...
Isn't there an old saying about the dangers of getting your friend a job?
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
Well, what I do is that I go into to work with a monetary goal in mind. If I make that goal I am happy, if I make more...great. I find that I am happiest with my job when I am not comparing myself to what other girls are making. One night you may be the top earner and the next night you may not. There's no point in beating yourself up about it. btw $400 is a good night and you only worked until 12 am.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
I don't care how much I make (even tho' I do go in with monetary goals myself) as I look at the night overall... did I have fun? Was I entertained? Am I going to bed with a smile ? If the answer is yes to all these questions then no matter what the amount I had a good night. I base my good and bad nights on psychology (emotional/mental) than actual figures since I money is really in the end irrelevant (it's irrelevant in that you have good money nights and not so crash hot money nights so I stopped focusing so much on the money a looong time ago so I can survive many many years in this business).
Also, even if I made a pittance ($100) on one night. If I feel I left plenty enough "seeds".. they will pay up at a later time/stage when they "sprout". It's happened often enough for me to believe it.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
It's only a 200 difference... and that's if she's not exagerating. One time this girl I didn't even know started telling me she was making these insane numbers. I started watching her... Girl didn't make half what I did.
Still, even if she did... You had a great night!
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
Might say:
1. I am very lovable
2. Of course you do
3. I love dancing for fun people like you and having a good time (kind of diffuses it and make sit less serious)
4. People use that technique on me all the time…
5. I love great people like you in the club too.. Or something very broad and general about love to diffuse the situation and not so focused on them so they don’t get any psycho idea that you are going to be their wife…
6. If you want to get rid of them you can make them feel uncomfortable by asking them to list all what they love about you which will reflect how they don’t even know anything about you at all.. Or they can just list how they are in love with your boobs etc LOL
7. If you feel safe playing with it .. Could be dangerous on the wrong person: as a fantasy you might try to make it fun but at the same time get the message across that is to only fantasy . You could talk about or create a romantic fantasy scenario if that is what he wants to PAY for… Maybe tell him you are not single but could imagine how much fun he would be… and you never know maybe someday although I would NEVER cheat on your partner that you never know how relationships go and that you like to keep cool fun people in mind… telling a story and hinting about how loyal regulars who spend lots of money on are so attractive… of course you got to be subtle but you get the idea.. there are many ways to communicate and use subtle suggestion.. Your job is to create fantasy so I don’t’ see any ethical problems with this.
Or Just tell them of course they do because you are very lovable.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
Hint: This thread is waaay old, along with some other ones. ;)
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
uh, mystery, i think youve got the wrong thread here. in addition to bumping this old ass one.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
I say good night, $400 for having fun with the guys, plusmaking them wanna come back for more. Tell your girl to get up out of your stuff, you worked smarter not harder, and at least in my club 600 for 24 dances, she is either the best dance in the world or doing something extra
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
well just consider that if you worked the floor you may have made more but you could have also made squat and then been REALLY ticked:) It may seem like just 400...but you got new customers that arent total dickwad cheapasses(like a lot of bachelor parties) so in terms of potential earnings you have homegirl beat hands down.
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
I would see that as a great night... the manager now knows how great you are for entertaining and will probably use you more for big parties in the club. You didnt have to wander around dealing with assholes all night, right?
Re: good or bad night? I can't decide....
A good or bad night can ONLY be measured by your AVERAGE earnings AFTER house fees and payouts at your club. In other words by adding up everything you have ever made at this club per night, and dividing it by the number of nights worked you will come up with a nightly average.
If your $400 earnings = or exceed your nightly average, you had a good night, right?
FYI, $400 after tip outs is always good for me, especially as slow as this business has gotten over the past few years.
