Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
I'm thinking of dancing, doing private parties w/security.What are the pros and cons of each?I think I could make more money doing private shows as opposed to working 8 hours and not being sure if you'll even make anything. Please give your opinions and advice..
Re: Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
I only do private parties, never danced in a club. I only work Saturday nights as I go to school full time during the week. You can bring in (after paying agency fees and tipping your driver/security) anywhere from $600-$1500 on a Saturday night, usually between $900-$1100 being the average. But that is in Chicago, I usually get sent out to 3-4 shows on a Saturday night. I don't think that there is much going on in the middle of the week. I love doing parties, and I think (based on what I have read) it is much more suited to me than working at a club. I hate drama, and when you work parties you rarely interact with other strippers. You are generally the center of attention at the show, you don't have to compete with other girls to get dances. There is more contact than in the club (Most girls at my agency do whipped cream shots which involve licking whipped cream off of the nipples, and lapdances involve some grinding) and feed the kitty (which involves squatting down and picking up a $20 off some lucky guy's face). So if you are used to airdances this is a lot different, you'll have to set your own limits. You might not want to do everything I described here, but those seem to be the best moneymakers. Of course, some girls do more, but I don't know if they really make any more money than the girls who don't. Generally the men at the party are respectful, but how they treat you depends a lot on your attitude. You are in and out of each party in 30-60 minutes, with anywhere from $200-$600 in tips from your show. As far as bookings go, my agency handles everything. All I have to do is be there for my driver to come get me and take me to the bookings. I really enjoy what I do, considering what I make for the time investment involved. And I think it is fun. Get involved with a professional agency though, there are a lot of fly by night companies out there and you want to go with someone who is established. Look at how much advertising they do (how big the ads are in the phone book and where their placement is on search engines like Google). Those are going to be the ones that bring in the most business. And find a steady driver that you can trust, and that can help you make money. The agency might provide one or if you know someone you can bring your own, but don't be afraid to go through a few until you find the right one. Good luck!
Re: Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
I have thought about doing private parties, I think I would be better suited doing that than dancing, but in Vegas, there are soo many "escort agencies" and I am very lerry about them, thinking that they are ALL a cover up for prostitution. Is there any way to check into agencies and find out if they are legit or not?
If anyone knows about the agencies in vegas, let me know.
What I am really interested in is an actual escort service where a guy is looking for a hot date to take out to a show, gambling, dinner.....but NOT back to the room. I have a few customers I met in my club that I meet and go out with like this, it is much more fun and profitable than working in a club, but it is hard to find guys that just want company and not sex.
Re: Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
Hi! I'm a newbie into dancing but like i said on my profile, i want to get into private parties instead of dancing in a club. How do I get started? I wanna do it on my own. I don't wanna be in an agency, though. Can i do it that way? How much should i charge? How can i advertise? I have a business partner who I've been friends with for a while who said he will help me manage these things. I read about some of the things you said to do at the parties but what else should i do? What should i wear? just regular dancer clothes? How do i make the money you make?
Re: Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
I would really start with an agency first to see how it is done. Otherwise (with advertising costs, etc.) you risk losing more money than you will make and unless your friend is well versed in business law you might be opening yourself up to legal trouble if you aren't properly licensed. If you are serious about running your own company, go with an agency for a few months and learn the ropes. Otherwise you are just setting yourself up for failure or worse.
Re: Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
Yeah, but how do i find an agency here? I don't know of any in charlotte, nc. but i definitely know i don't wanna work in a club anymore.
Re: Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
^^^ Look in the phone book under "adult entertainment"
Re: Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
So how does your club charge for private parties? How much do they charge per party or upfront? I'm trying to learn all this, I'm majoring in business and want my own company. I'm just trying to get some different tips so if you could at all help me any way, please do! I live in NC where there are some agencies but i can't do research on them unless i work for them. So i need as much help as i can get.
Re: Private Dancing Vs Club Dancing
Work for them! Its the only way to learn. I don't know how things work in NC. You will save yourself a lot of money and heartache working for an agency for a few months.
