Enron: The Smartest Guys in the room
I have seen a lot of documentaries but this one on Enron showing Lay, Skilling and what was going on is the only one that makes me sick to my stomach.
Especially how the government regulatory agencies were gutted because of Lay's political connections to Bush.
If you watch it, make sure you have enough time to get "un-pissed" before you have to do anything.
check out the websites today. What a reality check.

Thanks for the warning, but this is going to be one of those docs I have to see! It didn't affect me as much as it might have as I live in one of the California cities which produces most of its own electicity, rather than being dependent upon upon private utility companies. But this is just one more of the reasons it has become so difficult to trust or have a shred of faith in just about any politician of late.

I thought this was out on DVD already. I saw some Enron DVD not to long ago - but I don't remember the title of it off the top of my head.
I agree though, a lot of corporations and the people who run them haven't a shred of interest in the health of this country... that said - I am looking forward to M Moore's Sicko movie. I don't always agree with him - but it sure is fun watching him skewer people who deserve it.
It is enough to make ya almost think communism has some good ideas! (Did I just say that?!?!?!)

I thought it was a great movie. Pretty sad and aggravating. I saw it in Dallas and people got pretty heated over it.

Yea, did you see the part about Lu Pi who was CEO for one of the companies. He spent about every night in the Strip Clubs in Houston, divorced his wife, married the dancer, and is now the second largest landowner in the state of Colorado.
He got out early.
He has to love Mark to Market accounting.

And herein lies the key difference between a 'wildly successful entrepreneur' and a convicted criminal ... 6 months and 2 dozen news stories !
