background checks
ok, if you are applying for an office job at a big company...can they see all the places you have worked? i am not talking about stripping really but like if i kind of made up a place i worked on my resume but it was a friend who could still give me a great reference?

Re: background checks
Most resumes are pure fiction, so I don't think you have much to worry about. Just make sure you put a couple of real jobs on there.

Re: background checks
A friend of mine did that one time. He was a dancer and then didn't work for a while but had a friend that owned a company that vouched for him and it worked and nobody to this day has found out. As long as the reference person is legit and will vouch for you, you should be fine. But be prepared to answer questions regarding that job with details when you go on an interview and make sure to keep your facts straight so you're not caught in a lie.

Re: background checks
I've spoken to former employers who got a call to verify my previous employment.

Re: background checks
i'm not talking about a reference check (where they call people to verify employment) i am fine with that....i am talking about a BACKGROUND check where they show previous addresses etc
