SIM car for prepay cellphone in the US?
OK! I want to hook up my triband mobiles on a prepay account. Now if I were in Melbourne Australia, I'd just pop into 7-11, ask for my compnay of choice and I'd have a card, all in about 2 minutes.
So how the hell do I do this in the US? None of my phones are locked, and all will work here. Everywhere sells top up cards, but no one seems to have the SIMs. Do I have to buy an el-dodgo phone, rip the card out and stick it in my phone?
Dis is driving me nuts!

can't you go to like a cingular (or company of your choice) retailer and ask for a sim. I think thats' what my brother did.

You need to make sure you go to a store owned by the particular carrier, not just an "authorized agent." The agent stores usually can't do much other then sell phones, and help customers in the particular service area.

Well Planet Omni wants me to buy a phone. So I kept seraching and found these:
http://www.ustronics.com/cingularsim.html
http://www.ustronics.com/noname97.html
So anyone use Cingular or T-Mobile, and know if they are good for FLA. I will probally be visiting AZ, CT, and LA, sometime within the next full year or so.
Thanks.
Also I can't seem to find if they charge you for receiving calls, so if anyone knows, pass it on. Thanks again.
