This article has sparked a LOT of debate and a LOT of buzz. I'm really interested to see what everyone thinks of it.
Personally, while I think the author may have a bit of underlying bitterness (a poster to another message board has stated that he used to work with this guy, and apparently, when it comes to women in general, he's bitter as FUCK), the article is worth discussion and worth thinking about.
For instance, the fact that women with careers are more likely to get divorced. To me, that doesn't necessarily mean that they are less happy in marriage than those who don't. It may be that a career woman has the financial independence to get out of a bad marriage if they so desired, whereas a stay at home wife may not have the resources and feel trapped.
I kinda cracked up when he mentioned that career women are more likely to cheat. Haha! I think the counterpoint on the article raised an interesting point - so, it's perfectly FINE for men to continue to have access to the new young interns and other office nymphets (in addition to all the money they spend on strippers, escorts and porn...haha), but GOD FORBID a career woman encounters a young, interested hunk at work who makes her hubby at home look like the lazy loaf he may be. LOL!
Personally, I think it all boils down to this. You gotta find someone who shares the same values as you when it comes to family.
It takes all kinds to make this world go 'round. And in my opinion, the women's movement is not about stay at home mom v. career woman. It's about having the CHOICE as to which one you want to be (maybe you want to be neither!).
If you want to be a stay at home mom, then find a guy who wants to have a stay at home wife.
But if you want to be a career woman, then you've got to find a guy who values that and is willing to share the responsibilities of family and marriage equally with you.
Other thoughts?
