Okay, it's really more of an adoption anouncement! Meet Hank, the latest addition to our family ;D He's about 10 mos old (he was a stray before the Humane Society found him, just like our Sophie!) Great Dane Mix... We think he's pretty darn lovable!

I just want to  him !! When I move out of this unit I am definately going to think about adopting a female dog of some sort of small breed variety from the local animal shelter. I love my cat... do NOT get me wrong... however I have been having a hankering for a dog for a long time now. I definately will exercise it and train it. That's the bit I like best about it... it will get me out of the house whereas my cat is very house orientated (due to her age).
He's cute. How gigantic is he going to get? If he's 10 months I wouldnt imagine too much larger.
Aw, what a cute puppy! I want to snuggle him. Sophie looks like a sweetheart too!
Awww...what a cutie! ;D
Much to the disappointment of my BF, he's probaly not going to get much taller or longer. Although his paws are still akward and huge, he only weighs in at about 51 lbs right now. BF was really hoping for a ginormous dog, but this guy is just too cuddly not take home!Quote:

As far as his behavior, the only worry we have is his possesivenes of food. We were expecting some agressiveness with other dogs, but he dosen't like humans sticking hands in front of his face while eating either. Peaople & food wasn't a problem at all with Sophie so we're gonna have to try to figure out some way to correct this behavior.
Sophie is, for the most part, tolerating him at the moment. She's about four years old and has been an only child for the pass three years so she's a little set in her ways. This morning, during her usual after breakfast yard patrol, Hank tried to roughhouse with her and she turned into Kujo. Luckily, it was more of a warning and no one was injured.
I apologize for rambling on! I feel like one of those new moms that can't talk about anything other than her kids. What can I say, I'm smitten!
