Could be the Silence (remix) - By Delierium
But she has several techno remakes, in fact her last album was all remixes.
Cap't
^^Yup, that would be "Silence" by Delerium with Sarah on vocals. There are several remixes, the original version is pretty slow.
thanks guys!!!
There are at least two Sarah Remix Cds, one of them is called Butterfly, which someone here recommended a while back, and the other is at my new club. Then there are a few more floating around on other CDs.
The Delerium (slower) "Silence" mix is by far the most sensuous, and is almost as good as the slow remix of "Fear", but requires the right timing and the right dancer to pull it off. It's a great way to end the night, with one of the the best dancers onstage. They will think of that while they are driving home, etc.
The Tiesto mix is my least favorite of the three I know of, and I use it by far the least, by specific request only from someone who knows them all and wants it. At least it is way less annoying than his other shit, which is universally way too fast. There comes a point when high BPM rate defeats the purpose of maintaining a high energy level in a club, and just grates on the nerves of most people, especially the rock fans. The only way to pull this off, in my opinion, is to have the very best possible female vocals, and the right touch. Sarah provides the vocals, thats for damned sure.
Actually, the Butterfly CD is at work as well, now that I think of it, but I will get them both and recommend a few from them if you like.
Totally off topic, but HEY! Djoser! You're here!!! How we've missed you! How have you been??? (I know I should just PM this, but figured others would be Welcome Wagonning too.)
I've been doing very well, thanks! My absence has more to do with the real estate situation here in Key West, and the lack of coverage provided by Clearwire, an otherwise excellent wireless service, who won't get another dime from me until they provide it here, and quit trying to change the terms of their contract.
I'll be back more regularly once I get settled in my new place--going to sign the lease in moments). It's only a thousand a month, which is cheap here for what I'm getting (it's a way cool loft studio a block from work).
Getting back on topic, it has been quite interesting to work in this new club as far as playing techno--three of the dancers have small books of techno, which would ordinarily be a welcome situation, but the stuff they have is almost all way too fast and laden with horribly done synthesizer work, which is what got me thinking about Tiesto and that whole genre.
Fortunately there are at least 6-7 others who love the good stuff, so unless all three show up with their books on the same night, it's a greatplace to work for techno lovers, and the Sarah remixes have been getting lots of use.
The slower-ish remix is Fade's Sanctuary Mix. Still upbeat but not as BOMPBOMPBOMP as the Tiesto one. Howdy Djoser, welcome back.
Thanks!
Yeah, that's the one I usually use on a friday night or whatever--and I think it might have been you who mentioned the Butterfly CD--review coming soon...
Just a bump to point out that I noticed the 2nd Sarah remix cd is actually called "Bloom", but it DOES have a big butterfly on the cover. The first one is just called "Remixed", and I actually like most of those better.
Ach! Its true, I forgot the name and remembered the big butterfly picture, but Ive always said I suck at names, lol. I like the first one better for the most part as well, but find Bloom growing on me. naturally I forgot them at the club again, so I cant write about the
cuts I like.
the delierium song "firefly" is awesome to dance to.
Dude that song is incredible the Sarah one. Paul Van Dyke did it years and years ago .. like 8 years ago I think.
Incredible. now i gotta go dig out old cd's :)
^Yup, the original is from...'95 or 96. Rabbit In The Moon did a pretty groovy remix of "Euphoria (Firefly)" as well.
