she's so cheap!
"I got the sandwich for 3.95 and the beer for $2...so plus 90 cents for tip...."
She's cute, but I can't get over her one show where she eats for under $40.

yeah who gives a 90 cent tip??? shes is very enthusiastic about her food...
She has content?!
I just watch.
Though my attention speed shifts between her smile and her food.....soooo delicious.
I lover her i thinks she is fun. Her show will give martha a good run for her money.
I'm a total Food Network Junkie - it's practically the only TV I watch. I pretty much only do the 30 Minute Meals with RayRay. I can only take her in small doses (after a while she grates a bit), but I do like her. I've gotten quite a few handy tips from 30MM, and all the recipes I've done of hers (both books and show recipes) have come out great. Not complicated, but good hearty stuff.
But seriously, honey, saying "EVOO" when you follow it up with with " . . . that's extra-virgin olive oil," every single time saves you NO TIME! Give it a rest already!
yall makin me hungry!~ link the clip now dammit...please :)
There's a whole faction of people on BitterWaitress.com who refer to her as Raytard. They're mostly pissed because she's basically educating her viewers that it's ok to be cheap when leaving a tip.
I used to love reading the gripes people left about her.
I like 30 minute meals a lot. I dont care too much for her talk show. When shes cooking I can get over the bubbly/perky thing but when its just her it gets irritating after a while.

So a 90 cent tip is acceptable, albeit by less than a penny. Assuming there wasn't any sales tax involved, I'd have just given $1.05 myself.
And while I like Rachel, eating on $40/day while traveling isn't that freaking hard if you stay out of those boutique eateries, esspecially if you skip breakfast.
:P
-Yeah but you can still find a 3-4 dollar breakfast in the US. In Australia, it is 7 (if you are god dammed lucky) and 15 is the average.
hehe i went to www.bitterwaitress.com thats a pretty fun site to read when you are board. :)
^ I know. I used to be addicted to it, but SW has pretty much taken over. My favorite area is the Shitty Tipper Database.
Oh and by the way, I don't care how small the bill is. It can be $5 or something, but I'm not leaving less than a $2 tip. Period. Then again I was a waitress, and I still work for tips so I believe in the whole tipping karma thing.
Besides, IMO a 15% says to the server they did an adequate job. 20% should be standard for good service which I'm sure whoever had the misfortune to serve Ms. Ray deserved.
Rachel Ray used to be a server and she should know better.
