Prices, Selling, Tips and Shows
I'm thinking at buck's parties and things where I'm only waitressing, it would be a good idea to bring my toys and say, "Hey for $200 I'll do a 15-30 minute vibe show!" Couldn't hurt to suggest, right?
Anyway, I was also wondering about tips. V told me to stand there like I expected one but it didn't kinda work and I only made about $30 in tips for 3 hours and only sold one book of tickets... so I made $55 for three hours of work! :( Suckage! But then I went to a gig which was SUPPOSEDLY badmoney and I got hourly ($110 total) and I convinced the guys to tip me.
Difference was I asked for the tips. Like, really, asked. They would say things to me and I would go, "Honey I can't just sit and chat unless you make my g-string look fuller!" And things like that.
What's a good way to convince the normally non-tipping Australian culture to tip especially when a place doesn't give you a base pay?
Normally I wouldn't accept non-base-pay jobs but this company requires you do them before sending you on realreal jobs. :)
Re: Prices, Selling, Tips and Shows
When asking for tips at a private party, you must remember that you have to ask for tips but not expect them. If you stand there and expect a show from them, or you say the agency said you would get a show off them, there could be room for the customer to think there is a communication issue between the girls and management.
I always tell the girls to collect tips through out the night from serving drinks. If you are paid to topless waitress, make sure you have skirt or something on. Dont wear just a gstring, as you can possibly earn tips from taking the gstring off!
Also when you do the show, customers expect that you do it after the waitress shift! Never do it with in the waitress shift as some customers (I get them all the time) ring up and complain about a waitress who asked to do a show, and left with owing 30 minutes topless waitress. Not only will the customer go else where, but he will never want to book you again. This is important in QLD especially as there is such a competitive market, the girls need to offer only the best service. If any agency recieves a complaint about a girl, the chances they can drop to the bottom of the list is high!
Also for $200.00 I would normally expect the girl to do a 25 minute toy show! You must offer a show worthy enough so the guys do not call the agency and book another stripper. You can use the agencies price list of shows as a guide line for what shows to give them! Don't under cut or over charge, as the customers an get rude and become arse holes if you promise them something and you did not deliver (there is a big trust issue between strippers and customers at most parties... I get quite a few calls about customers being ripped off - this is by both customers and other girls that work for me!)
Re: Prices, Selling, Tips and Shows
Actually all that was pretty much what I figured. :P I definitely wasn't going to do it in the beginning. And I always wear a skirt and ask for $50p/h for the skirt off and then another $50p/h extra for g-string off. Works really well. :) I was definitely not going to say the agency said I'd be getting a show. More or less, "I do shows too! You can either book me or if you have the cash now I can do a toy show for xxx!". :) Thaaaank you.
Re: Prices, Selling, Tips and Shows
My major problem with topless waitressing is that alot of them do not tip (they are on a budget) and/or they want a "party girl" (and I don't drink nor do any drugs so I'm far far from it). *sigh* As for the expecting a tip, I meant to stand there with your hand out as the DJ at that gig usually stresses to the guys to tip the girl.
That gig from that particular agency is not the only one you work for tips only. Biloela is the other one (see the Biloela thread in Club Chat or wherever I put it ..lol). Just watch that agency (as I know which one you are speaking) as they take a percetage of your tips... and will know how much you can make "average" there due to having had those venues/places for AGES... if you under-declare your tips with that agency they won't favour you.
As for offering shows, I also generally offer a 30 min basic toy show (nothing too raunchy as they have to pay near $300 for something like that) for $200 .... this only works if you are the only topless waitress and they aren't going to have a show for ages... the majority of the time when they have already booked a stripper it is practically pointless in offering *sigh*
There is definately a hell of a lot more topless waitress work in S.E.Qld than shows. If you can make a go of it, it can be very lucrative.
Just that personally I am more a showgirl. I really can't stand topless waitress work anymore. I'm just not suited to it... just like not everyone is suited to showgirl work. ;)
