Ever think about moving to another country?
With everything thats been happening im realizing more and more each day that we are living in a very violent modern world. We are not only threatened by the outside but also threatened from within. I would be scared to raise a family here....esp. with the shit that goes on in schools now. Shit. :O
I know there is violence all around the world, but I feel as if violence/crime sometimes gets brushed off easily.
I mean where is the limit anymore? Kids killing kids, parents killing kids, kids killing parents, adults killing kids, young adult and elderly, adults killing adults, ect...has there been anything that has totally shocked us?
Anyone feel this way sometimes?

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
Hell no! I'd never leave Canada (permanently). If it gets too violent I'll just grab me a few hundred acres up north.
Edit, I'd never leave western Canada. heheh.
Vive la Colombie-Britannique libre! (j/k)

I'm already living in an another country :) . Believe my home country (like many other countries) is as violent as US. At least people in US are more proctected against terrorism. Nothing big like 911 happened in other countries but in my home country over a span of thirty years the number of people killed because of terrorism is close to 20,000.
I think this is "grass on the other side of the fence is greener" pheonomea...
Moreover, moving to an another country is not as easy as you think. There is the culture shock, there is feeling lonely all the time (especially at the begginning), and language is always a problem. Daily short talks are not a big deal, but if you want to express your feelings (like declaring your love :) ), it is always more difficult to do it in a learned language than the native one.

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
Dude, I'm going to Ireland. They pay $75 per dance!;D :D
-
Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
$75 a dance?! Im sorry but that has to be more then a dance :O
-
Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
We had three groups of Irish dudes the last week. I asked my guy what the clubs were like there and he said they don't have nearly as many as Myrtle and the cost of living is much higher. That's his explanation why it's approximately $75 a dance. Now, of course, because I haven't been I don't know what they normally expect. He was quite happy with the three dances he got from me and I'm a light to medium chick. He also said the clubs aren't as big as Masters, just medium. He said it's still a novel concept for them.
There's got to be some girls here who've worked there. I'll post in Club Chat to check up on it though. We might be missing a big ol' gold mine!:O

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
I don't want to move to another country. I want to redraw current state, county, and city boundaries here. People everywhere would have the option of succession from their respective local and state jurisdiction, and joining a different jurisdiction that is politically more atune to their beliefs, or starting their own state. Minority factions in every reach of the country could then demand either their rights be respected, or to be cut loose.
Sure the whole idea is extra-constutional, radically extreme and would be incredibly expensive and messy to implement, but once it would be completed at least then everyone would have a homeland of sorts where they don't feel that a government composed primarily of their enemies isn't oppressing them yet still collecting taxes from them. I personally feel this whole utopian idea of "The Geat American Melting Pot" is overrated and unrealistic anyways.
And if the Canadians (and eventually Mexicans) want in on the deal, hey so much the better.

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
I really want to move back to Australia.
-
Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
I am thinking of moving to Australia for 3-5 years just for the heck of it. Plenty of time to get out do stuff and really immerse my self.
Saying that I would love to live in the State of Jefferson..... Ah now that is a dream...

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
I love Australia, however remember that our dollar is stronger so what ever money you make there and you decide to come back to America, you are going to lose money when you convert the Ausie dollar to US-
Not sure what the rate is right now, but it is better than it used to be.

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
I'm already looking at Russia (but the regulations there suck so much, I don't see it happening), Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada, and Australia.

I've known a few...nobody seems to have made big money, but it's enough to support yourself while you live/vacation there.
Actually, I know one girl who made good money at the Barclay Club in Dublin, but she also made the most money I've ever see anyone make (consistently) in Van, so she was just a rockstar I think.
Strip clubs are pretty new over there, I think the kinks are still getting worked out, re: rules, vice, & all that. Plus, it's Euro so they'll have the ubiquitous Russians/Brazillians to compete with.
Janet books a club there, - Cork, I think.

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
^ Re: Irish clubs- I worked with a Parisienne girl who HATED Ireland. This was in early 2003...She said the customers treated her horribly & she was drunk all the time to cope. She was otherwise normal (did a lot of work in Toronto, actually.) Since then I've been too scared to consider Ireland for work, even though I might go husband-shopping there ; P
Back to the OP topic- I'll be living in Mexico for part of the year as soon as my income allows. Bringing a little bit of education to the kids of the Western Highlands & Coast...

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
I'd like to move back to England, but the cost of living is ridiculous. Id never have the same standard of living there as I have here unless I won a crazy amount of $.
I sometimes thing Canada would be nice or possibly even New Zealand which would be very easy to do.

Re: Ever think about moving to another country?
I've thought for a brief second about moving to Canada for the healthcare. But really I think there is good and bad all over the world. In fact, I think there has always been good and bad and that it's more a matter of us seeing it in the media and thinking it's become worse than it actually becoming worse. I mean violent shit has gone on all through history. I just figure if it's my time to get shot or whatever, it'll come when it's my time.

Hahum..Thailand and it's Buddhism? It's their token religion, just as Christianity is the token religion of the US. It means nothing. So very few of them live by it. I've spent alot of time there. It is definitely a beautiful country though. At last census in Australia, Buddhism was the number one religion.
It's all bullshit...and at the end of the day, it's the person's behaviour and not thier idealism/religion that speaks for who they are.
