Re: How a song should be?
For dancing to at a strip club?
Re: How a song should be?
Yep! I am preparing an audition, and for some reason, heavy metal makes me feel great...
Re: How a song should be?
The most important part of choosing a song or two or however many you need, is to base it on the demographics of the club. How old are the men. Do they look white collar? Blue? etc... You have to entertain them, afterall. After that, its the beat more than the lyrics, but some guys WILL pick up on non-sexy lyrics... I would personally pick 3 different sets to have ready. One for a young crowd, one for a 30 - 40 crowd, and one for a 40+ crowd.
Re: How a song should be?
Does that mean I have to use disco music for men over 40? or just something that would be ok for everyone?
Re: How a song should be?
^^^^^^ lol you don't need disco music, just something either a lil more mellow (no korn or rob zombie ) and no rap.
Re: How a song should be?
LOL, I've found a lot of the older crowd likes classic rock and hair bands. Think Guns N Roses and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I've woken up a sleepy bored older crowd REAL quick with this music, old and young.
Everyone loves a good hair band song! :P
Also, not just the music, but the attitude you have when dancing to songs helps. Older men like confident, sassy, classy girls usually, while the younger crowd likes showy, bitchy looking girls. (Just what Ive found)
Re: How a song should be?
I don't think old school Metallica or similar music would be a bad choice. Some of those guys who were in their youth when that came out are 35-ish with good paying jobs now.
But along these lines, the following would be some good reading.

Re: How a song should be?
Interesting article... Are Metallica and Maiden considered as 'old school rock' to these older men?
