Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
Hi girls, ;D
I was just wondering how many of you out there spend time working with the pole learning pole tricks and pole gymnastics? I have been training with a choreographer and an assistant for just two weeks and I can already go inverted! Today I was able to hold myself out straight (so the body is horizontal to the vertical pole) for the first time!! Learning the pole is such a rush because you feel so accomplished when you master a new trick, and it definitely makes you look more advanced than the laze-around-the-pole type girls. There are some cool pictures at
Xoxo,

Yeah, it's really awesome. It makes you feel like you've got a special athletic talent that not many people have.

:'( I want to be able to do that.

Re: Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
I'm hoping I might be able to get away with installing a pole someplace in the new place I eventually find when I move out of this crud hole in February. Until then, do to doing mainly private party work, I am stuck with whatever chance I can get to keep my pole work from going rusty. Now that I do not work within a club all that often, I find that I am even MORE drawn to pole dancing than I was when I did work at a club!
I took pole dancing for granted, as such, when I worked regularly in the club. Now I realise how great it is and do want to persue being better at it however need to move first so will wait........ that or I can take up working one night per week locally (if a club will allow me).

Of course everyone likes to pole dance/strip! Even 15 year olds!

Re: Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
When I was dancing for men I stopped learning tricks after a while, I figured they probably wouldn't notice whether I could do one style of invert or two. Now I do it mostly for women and they're all about the tricks, they cheer whenever they see one and it's great fun. I've picked up a few more and found that a handstand onto the pole is much easier than I expected. I'm bad at learning them on my own, though, and now I've had a pole in my room for a while the novelty's worn off.

Re: Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
I started learning to pole dance after a friend suggested it for her hen-party. I started teaching my own classes 2 months ago.
Now I've realised that I can use it to earn some extra money dancing in clubs too.
I know you say that the guys probably won't notice the tricks. But I've been working on some of them for months, it would be a shame not to include a couple of them over an evening's performing!
Mimi: the handstand is still my nemesis!

ME ME ME!!!
I must admit I'm still relatively new to the whole pole-dancing thing and still manage to look like a clutz when I'm on it, but I absolutely LOVE pole dancing!
I swear I was born to do it; this coming from the most sedentary girl in the world who coils in fright at the mere idea of any exertion whatsoever. I've only been taking pole lessons for a short while and already I'm determined to get a pole, yayaya!

Oh, it's always worth doing tricks. Even if the audience isn't big on them, something impressive will get you attention and that's always good, I just didn't feel the need to expand my repatoir at my little straight club. A lot of men do notice and appreciate when a dancer's enjoying herself too, so if you like tricks you should do them.
Handstand's not hard if you can already do it against a wall. I thought my feet had to hit the pole which freaked me out, but it's really the bum that catches you, and I have plenty there! Getting out of it gracefully could be difficult if you can't hold yourself up by your thighs, though. Oh, and if you don't like being unsupported you can do a reverse handstand, where you bend over with your bum against the pole and go up from there.

Nope... can't do one against the wall either - I fell on my head trying to do one when I was 7, and it still scares me. I can, however, do handstands coming down to the floor from tricks. But then I still have to come down headfirst, cos I'm still too scared to walk-over and land on my feet!

I pole dance and love it. I wish I had an appropriate space to put a pole a home to practice tricks. That site is awesome! Thanks for sharing the link!

Re: Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
i love to pole dance and im hoping to start teaching it next year, how good does it feel to invert for the first time and to feel comfortable just moving your body around the pole?! im still getting a few bruises on my legs from various tricks (people think my partner beats me, i just say i like it rough :P) but having a history in calisthenics, gym and dance does help. im just interested in how many australian girls are in this forum and pole dance? i spend a few hours each week working on tricks and movements and always keen to learn what other girls have done/try. :)

Doing tricks slower just takes more muscle and practice, you're basically holding everything longer. It's not hard if you've been doing polework for a while, it kinda comes naturally once you've built up the muscle for it.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say i too, love to pole dance- tricks are awesome- especially in a club where there are only a handful of girls that can do them there is nothing like dollar showers when you drop from the ceiling to the floor in a split after flipping up and well you get the drift- i also think the guys like it- i haven't got or seen any girls get complaints from geusts about that- i started dancing 9 months ago- to this day i will still go and work a sunday day shift just so i can get dressed and practice pole tricks while there is noone there- on another note- 2 weeks ago i got drunk had my friend drive me to the sex store where i purchased a pole for my home!! very excited to learn some more tricks!!!

Re: Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
I love pole dancing. I have a platinum stage in my house and cant wait to expand my pole tricks. Not too many girls do pole tricks, so it is pretty eye catching at my club. Its also great exercise.

Re: Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
I have to say that I love pole dancing too.

Re: Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
I love pole dancing. Unless I'm sick, even when there's no one at the stage I still whip them out like crazy.
I don't know what I'm going to do when I get my breasts, no pole dancing is going to be extremely awkward to me. Like being able to walk but not being allowed to run.

Re: Who can/likes to pole dance? Thread dedicated to pole dancing...
I pole dance thats my routine. Makes me unique. I've only seen one other guy do tricks as part of his routine.

Yay for male pole dancers especially professional ones! ;D
I wish more men would do it and realise it isn't 'gay' or 'un-manly' of them to do so.. if anything.. it is very manly as it shows off your strength and flexibility which are sexy IMO.
I'm planning on taking up some tuition or pole dance classes in 2008 to help further expand my skills and thus be able to do things outside of just stripping.
I wish men cared for the tricks and how much effort, strength, grace, flexibility etc it takes to do some tricks on the pole however they don't care. They just want to see TAP (tits ass pussy) *sigh* it's lost within the strip clubs.

Props for pushing yourself to the next level and working toward continuing self improvement. It seems lots of dancers rather do the raunchy antics for quicker money (nothing against it but its a option).
You given me some inspiration to push myself again. I've become a little stagnant in my progression since I moved to CA and no longer have my work out partners. Being a guy makes it hard for me to pick up moves since no other guys do it.
