Well I don't know if my first auditions were exactly positive! I was SO nervous, I think auditioning for the first time was the scariest part of the job for me, that scariness hasn't been matched yet. I got really drunk, and can't even remember what I was doing, definately not moving very sexily! I wouldn't recommend getting absolutely wasted like I did, but a couple of shots might help.
My first audition..um. I knew I was going to be there to take off my clothes and that it would be in front of people, so I went in, filled out an app, was told to come back next day in clothes, I did. I waited for the song I liked, manager was nice to let me do that, and I hopped on one of the side stages. Danced in dress one song, topless next. There were a couple managers watching and I think what made my knees not turn to rubber was the fact I overheard them talking about how yes I was young, but I was really hot.
I didnt drink and I wasn't hi, and if you need to be to do this job then your selling a piece of your soul every night you dance. A job should build you up, not push you down, and no amount of money in the world should take the price of your soul. Personally, the times I did drink I found I wasn't as good at dancing, and didn't do as well.
Dancing was/is good for me. Instead of worrying about the audition, worry about the cost to yourself. Once you have that anserd, the audition won't bother you. It's just an inevitable step to the final destination, like breaking the cherry. If your emotionally ready, then your good, you might be nervous, but thats fun in itself. If your not ready, be prepaired to deal with it.
My very first audition...wow. :P
I called the club and they told me to come in at a certain time and bring my dance wear.I went in met the manager,we chated for about 5 minuets and he took me to the dressing room.I changed then went back down, the manager introduced me to the dj.The dj let me watch the girls for about 4 songs and pick my music.I went up on the main stage did my thing and came back down. Most of the girls were nice and said that I looked really good and they hoped I had the job.I went back to the dj he told me I did great and then walked me over to the manager.I went back in his office and we filled out the paperwork and went over club rules and I was told to come back the next night.
I was really nervous for my first audition even though I was there the night prior to check the place out and get all my questions out the way. When I heard the music the dj let me pick, the butterflies went away I just let loose. My audition lasted 3 songs and a lot of custys tipped me. After I finished the manager asked me to start the same night and I did.
My first audition was probably the scariest thing I have done in my whole life...hehe! I came into the club, talked to the dj and the bouncer, changed into my outfit, and checked out the club a bit. All the girls were very nice to me, and kept reassuring me that Everything would be fine.
As I walked onto the stage my whole body was shaking, and my throat dried up....o my I was scared to death!!! But the best feeling is walking off of the stage, knowing you did it!;)
My first real audition was at a nude club, but I'd had some dance experience at a bikini bar. The scary part, for me, was just getting naked. I was so nervous, I ran on the stage and tore off every bit of clothing I had worn, ten seconds into the first song, for 10 or 15 customers. The established dancers yelled at me, from the floor. "Hey, don't just give that away for free!"
Yesterday was my first audition. I went in with a friend who knew the manager which was helpful. He basically made it clear that i had to job before i even danced. But i picked my first song shook out my nerves and went up there. I just did basic pole movements and a lot of ass shaking. My friend was talking to the manager the whole time and when i got off the stage he said he already had a custy who wanted a dance from me so i started right then. Worked 2 hours went home and came back and worked the rest of the night. I ended up with 300$ for the day and a lot less nerves. I used the line that i was new a lot and it really helped me get dances and tips. LOL no one beleived it was my first time dancing so that was kinda nice to know i didn't come off totally new and ackward. I'm going back tonight but DAMN does my body hurt! And my feet!! Good God it felt like i was walking on broken glass by the time i was done last night. I bought some gel insoles (thanks SW for the idea) and i'm going to try them tonight so we shall see if they help.
I am a newbie too (first night was Monday!) and I didn't even have to audition perse. I called beforehand, then went in and talked to the manager and the housemom, who were very friendly. They took one look at me and asked when I wanted to start! I couldn't believe how easy it was. The first couple of dances on my first night were kind of nerve-racking (pretty much me, clinging onto the pole for dear life and trying not to fall!), but I got into the swing of things pretty quickly. The main thing to remember is to just have FUN! It doesn't matter what you do with you're body too much as long as you're feeling the music and look like you're having a good time!
I was a little nervous. I am very confident with my body though and had been naked in front of people before so it wasent too bad. I striped to a topless/thong from a school girl costume first and got fully naked on from a cheerleader costume on the second. They said i did great. I was working 2 nights later.
I lied and name dropped a few clubs...I totally winged it!...It was fun. I didn't think twice about going on stage, I wasn't nervious at all. I like to dance and it showed. I even spun around the pole a few times. Other dancers were asking me how did I do that...it was like pulling a rabbit out of a hat!
They made me come in on amateur night and it there was about 50 people there. I was nervous as heck and did a lot of research beforehand. After I did one song the owner came up to me and asked if I wanted to work there. I said yes and ended up winning 500 bucks for first prize. It was the beginning of the end. :P
