Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
I was like that in high school. Also in highschool... There was this really rich girl who never wore anything twice... literally. She'd give it away afterwards.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
Crazy. I wish I could do that! It bugs me when I wear the same thing out with someone but I do iti all the time anyway.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
During the day, not at all. I don't care what I wear. But for events, I cannot wear the same thing twice.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
It depends what it is and where. Generally I can and do often and if anyone should be small minded enough to mention it in a negitive way they can fuck right off. This hasnt happened to me since 1986 incidently.
I try to rotate my favorite outfits if im going out - I certainly have enough of them. My boyfriend wanted me to wear my chain mail bikini for the second time in a row to the same club (Hellfire, it happens once a month and its not outrageous to wear something like that there...) But Im definatly not going to be seen in it there again for a few more months maybe ever. I was shocked at the prospect, lol!
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
hell no.
i wear a smae 'uniform' outfit day in day out.
lil skirt and boob tube or singlet top. couldnt care less tbh. its just clothes. im not into wasting money on things that will only be worn a few times. id rather buy key pieces and thrash them.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
I only care when it comes to dates.
I can't wear the same 'date outfit' twice.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
At work i guess i care, cause i'm making money. in my private life i think i have the exact opposite condition. i'll wear the same thing over and over at times except for the undies just cause i don't care about clothes when i'm not at work as long as they're not stinky or stained.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
I could give a fuck if people see me in the same outfit twice. I don't exist to please the world. Fuck 'em! I don't care what they wear so they'd be wise not to care what I wear.

Now that that's out in the open...., *shew*
Uhm... rainbow socks.... don't match with anything. I don't care if you've dyed your hair specifically to match.
:D
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
Well, when everybody has seen your outfits feel free to send 'em all over to me. I hate shopping witha passion and always get frusterated by the squeeky teenage girls after listening to them squawk for more then 10 min. There have been numerous times I've driven to themall with the intention of getting something specific only to see how many cars are there and I'd turn right back around and go home. And online ording always seems to be sized way bigger then it says. For these reasons I have been stuck wearing the same cloths I had since high school with the exception of when somebody gives me a gift or I absoloutly have to buy something new for some occasion, and then I usually grab the first thing I see and get the hell outa there.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
Ps: it's not a social phobia, because I can be around large crowds... it's all the annoying people packed together that puts me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
Even when I was 17 and worked at a concession stand at a movie theatre I'd refuse to serve people 15 and under... I'd tell them I had to run to the back so so could they go to the next register. It's the squeeking of their voices when they're in groups that makes my head want to explode.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
In high school I wouldn't wear anything I had worn within the last 2 weeks. We were really poor, but my grandparents bought me nice clothes, so that was as good as I could do.
Whoooo! Whoooo! You should see my closet now though! I have WAY too many clothes according to my husband. I hate wearing the same thing over and over again.
Unfortunately right now I'm pregnant and only have like 6 pairs of pants and 10-15 shirts that fit.

Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
it's mostly night event clothes that have the worst PDS associated with it... 'the dress' can't be a re-hash. i also concur on date clothes. when i met my husband i pretty much went and got a new top or something for every single one of our dates for the 'courting process'. they weren't necessarily expensive - just had to be different.
i'm really not that shallow... my play clothes are exactly that. i have this one 'tiger top' that i have flogged to death so bad with jeans that someone has insisted that i chuck it.... (i haven't and i won't)
it seemed for a while that every time i bumped into my neighbour i was wearing my fricken tiger top... that sent me into a renewed state of PDS... sigh. it's so weird with me it's like a tick.

That's definitely a pet peeve with me. I hate people obsessing over my clothing or look. It even creeps me out to be watched for what I'm wearing. It's like having a weird fashion stalker. It's probably left over angst from going to an all girls school where people watch EVERYTHING you wear, who you date, whatever.
Re: Princess Diana Syndrome
All i wear is the same white tee, fitted hat, blue jeans and Nike Dunks....i dont mind. :) Imo i dont think you should care if you wear the same outfit twice, if your comfortable then rock it. Why care what people think?
*P.S. i have 21 white tees, (i dont wear that "same" one, lol) and i have 6 blue jeans...they go in rotation. I might "look" the same but i wont "smell" the same.
Yadda mean? :)
