Ugh! Shopping sux in my town...
All right, so I've been wandering the malls in search of some nice clothes to wear over the holidays, and I am coming up empty handed. Even at stores that I normally click with, I'm not seeing anything I like.:P The colors are drab and boring and cold looking. The styles are frumpy and ultra conservative, or it is over on the other side with the super sexy night club or teeny bopper look.
I want some nice sweaters, jeans, blouses, skirts and boots. Maybe a couple of pants suits and some cartigans and blazers in a color a little more vibrant than beige, brown, black or gray.
Normally I like Wet Seal, but they are a little too casual for me this year. The big department stores all look the same, the smaller mall stores all look like they are trying to be Eddie Bauer or Abercrombie.
How come when you are in your thirties and want to wear nice styles a girl has to pay $$$$ to get a fashionable look?? Why do the big chains dictate that I have to look frumpy and dull because that is what my budget can afford?
Sorry for the vent, I'm just sick of the really crappy shopping that is available to me in my city. I guess I make a trip out of town to hit some decent shops:P.

I thinking shopping sucks in general. I never can find things I like and fit me in a flattering way. Good luck trying to find something.

No TJMaxx? I like shopping online through VS, and Fredericks.

Are VS and Fredericks sizes consistant?

Only TJMaxx Home Goods. I live in Eugene Oregon. This is Hippie central, so lots and lots of used clothing stores and hemp fabric styles and Tie Dye everywhere.
Then there are the high end boutiques. Love those fashions, but I can't afford to spend $200 on a blouse or $1500 on a pair of jeans.
I would love to have an Express in town. Or Guess. We do have a Macy's, but the items they carry here are different than what I've seen in other markets. I was hoping for a little more chic and stylish and not so...um...Housewife??

Only a Home Goods...Wtf? How far away are you from Portland? Or any larger city with a selection of stores?
Re: Ugh! Shopping sux in my town...
Book a trip to Vegas and don't skip the HUGE outlet mall just outside of town on the main strip!
Our trip turned into the shopping spree that wouldn't end, and the prices were great

Kohl's (juniors section). They're always having 40-50% off sales

I love express, and VS. The sixes for it are pretty consistant, and it's not hard to return things/exchange. They do alot of buy 1 get 1 or 1/2 off sales. The express I go to is about 30-40 min, but well worth it. I love sweater season (ocourse, im in fla), theirs are so cozy and well cut.
