Customers that lie about who they are?
Last night I was talking to this customer and I ask how he likes truck driving. He says he hates it, but hopefully he won't be doing it anymore because his band is taking off. I say whats the name of your band? He says "Bullet For My Valentine". It sounds very familiar. So he buys some dances. We talk for a while. I don't question him about his band. But I do say I'll check it out. He quizzes me all night long about what the name of his band is. This guy seemed so honest and nice. So today I go buy the CD and this guy looks nothing like the lead singer or any of the other bandmates. And the band is from England! WTF! I've never had a customer straight make up so much unnessacry bullshit. At least the CD is Good.;)

Don't take offense, Sally--some customers are highly skilled bullshit artists, as adept at pretending to be what they are not as some of the dancers (who at least are acting as part of their job).

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
haha what a weirdo.
i never really CAUGHT anyone in a lie, but im sure ive been lied to.
hell, i lie to guys all night :) dont we mostly? lol.
-
Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
lol sorry to anyone who likes that band but the singer is a wank anyway, was nasty to my sis when she asked him jokingly why he wasn't dancing to his own song at a nightclub.
hehe maybe your custie took the "go to a stripclub for the fantasy" aspect too far :)

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
I had a customer tell me and my friend that he was the son of Steven Speilberg! And what's so funny about that is I was talking to another dancer one night and I told her about him and she said "I know who you're talking about because he said the same thing to me and did the exact same thing". Those customers are usually the ones that try to make you think they're some big hot shot that will spend a lot of money when in reality, they don't, all they do is waste your time, like the customer I dealt with.

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
1 thing ive learned about this bizz, is dont belive a word any customer says.......they will tell you anythign to get to talk to you,get free dances or see you OTC.....in my opion 99% of customers are a**-holes................when customers talk to me, it goes in 1 ear and out the other, all im thinking is money...( lol)

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
keep in mind that dancers' usually project a 'club persona' which is a total lie compared to their real lives as well ... why should we expect customers not to do the same !

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
You are a smart woman. Us guys who frequent your clubs are trying to impress you angels of seduction. That should be a compliment. because mant strippers are dealing with the demons of being a stripper, and when guys come along and try to impress you, those demons should vanish,.....do they?
-
Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
I am surprised that strippers are surprised when they catch customers bullshitting. They are paying us for fantasy. Being able to pretend they are rich/powerful/famous/important is part of their fantasy ;)

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
I don't usually have the wool pulled over my eyes, because I next to never talk to customers. It's just not nessesary where I work. I have regular guys try to bullshit me all the time. I'm surprised I'm not batting for the other team with all the B. S. I run into. It was just something about his demeanor that seemed fairly honest. Truth is I didn't give a rats ass who he was, and I didn't exactly jump up and down when he told me he was so and so. I guess thats why it's so odd that he just kept plugging the name of "his" band. I have the fucktards money regardless of who he is.;D

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
Rule #1 of stripping: Never, ever believe anything a customer tells you to be true.
Rule #1 of being a customer: Never, ever believe anything a dancer tells you to be true.
-
Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
Except " not right now ".
that is the ONLY thing to believe.
-
Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
This reminds me of this one guy we used to have....he told everybody for years that he's an investment banker, and we found out later thet he worked in the post office!:rotfl: Everybody already knew the truth, but he still kept insisting. It didn't matter because he was a good tipper.

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
It doesn't faze me that customers lie. The only thing I want to know anyway is "wanna dance". Alot of times when customers say things I make a joke about it and call them out to be a liar I get the strangest looks I guess they realize a true hustler can't be hustled.

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
What do you care?
A customer can tell me that his name is Fluffy and he is descended from the Lindbergh baby, and it is fine by me as long as he is lying and not crazy (crazy people - there is a bit of an ethical issue taking their money).

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
I've dealt with a lot of liars. There was this old hermit-ish guy who would go to my old club. He was the type with a gray/white straggly beard, glasses, and wore one of those huge coats with the fur-trimmed hood. He would barely tip and said rude remarks, but one day he started taking a liking to me. He would talk up a storm for like half an hour at a time but only tip $1 the entire few hours he was there!(I only talked to him outta politeness/obligation, because he was the ONLY CUSTOMER IN THERE on a dead dayshift...see why I left that club??). He told me that he was the CEO of both Ford and Dodge. He smoked these cheap nasty Boaz filtered cigars and told me that they were worth $50,000 each down in Brazil, but in reality the entire pack sold for less than $2 or $3!(that's considering how much cig prices have gone up)
Then there was this young kid at another club. He was an asshole to me, dissing me any chance he had. He wasn't all that cute either, but acted like all the women wanted him and told me that I'd never be as successful like him. I asked him what he did, and he said that him and a few buddies started Citizens Financial. Just to be a smartass/asshole, I looked up the history of Citizens Financial later that night, just to prove that the kid was lying...sure enough, a website said that Citizens Financial had been established in the 1800s.
Then there was this kid who lied about the most inane, stupidest stuff. He didn't lie about stuff that would make him look powerful/superior, such as lying about his job, how much money he made, or being a rock star. No, he lied about neutral subjects like where he was from.(??) I talked to him and his older friend, and this kid asked me where I was from. I said "Northeast Philly"(which isn't the complete truth...but do you blame me for not being precise?), and he grilled me about "where." I jokingly/sarcastically said "123 Bustleton Ave"(not true), then asked him where he was from. He said "Upper Darby" so I said, "Oh, by 69th Street Station, right?" and he shook his head. He then said, "No, I'm not really from there." Okaaay??? The joke wasn't that funny. So I asked him where he REALLY was from, and he said Atlanta, Georgia. I asked him if he knew Marta(Atlanta's famed mass transit system), and he said "Who is she?" At that point, I knew that I was getting nowhere with him(money-wise, convo-wise, etc) so I laughed and said "Yeah right, you're not from Atlanta. You don't even know their mass transit system!", got up and left.

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
I always find it amusing when guys INSIST that whatever they are saying is true. My standard response is that I'm sure it is(ha ha), but that even if it isnt a)i'll never know it(again ha ha since we usually find out the truth some way whether we want to or not!) and b)I dont care. As long as you are fun and spending money..tell me you are a damn astronaut if thats what makes you happy. Makes no differance to me.
Theres a guy in one town I work in..older(prob 60's)VERY overweight taxi driver. Claims that every tiny(he likes girls about 90 pounds..I'm an exception)girl in town is DYING to go out with him and he has to keep fighting them off ...not to mention that he is being hid by the us government in this town because he knows too much from when he was an international spy. Uh huh. I feel bad for him so I always act like I believe every word...at heart he's a nice guy who would truly do anything for a friend(we've talked on the phone and he called me last yr after Hurricane Wilma to make sure I was ok and to see if I needed anything. He would have driven the 4 hours through hurricane rubble to get me whatever i needed I'm sure). He's just lonely and if my "believing" him brightens his day..I'm happy to act.
The only time this bugs me is when guys use their lies as excuses NOT to spend money or to be an asshole...the whole "dont you know who I am" BS.

Re: Customers that lie about who they are?
customers lie all the time. in fact, most of the ones who outwardly brag about how much money they make are lying.

Yeah, I always wondered about the best way(hustling-wise) to react to obvious liars! Should I flatter them by pretending to believe them and act in awe? Or, should I "pull their card" and call them upon their lie? I usually act like I believe them, which sometimes works in my disfavor. :( Apparently my acting is so good, coupled with my innocent looks, that customers actually believe that I'm believing their bullshit, and as a result I look totally stupid/naive when in reality I have been on to them the entire time. Sometimes, I think customers purposely tell us lies as a test to see how sharp/smart or stupid we are. I don't wanna look stupid, especially if I'm not, but then again I don't want to possibly insult the customer; because after all, some customers tell lies to cover up their own insecurities and try to genuinely look like a more empowered person. So what should I do?

Tell me about it! Like the "Citizens Financial founder" who didn't spend a dime. Or this loser Indian guy who went into my former club, and was bragging to my customer friend(sitting next to him) about how much money he makes, how he's worth millions of dollars, and how he treats the ladies so well. But the whole time that he was bragging about this, he was mooching dollars off my friend because he didn't have any $1s of his own to give to the girls coming around!

Yeah I've pretty much learned over the yrs that as soon as a guy starts bragging about money or what kind of car/house/etc he has..move on. If you have to brag about it to impress me ....you arent planning on spending it to impress me. I've told them why I was moving on too...sometimes it motivates them to "prove it" by giving me money. Usually not a lot...but I've had a guy hand me a cpl hundred to
"prove" he was a millionare. If you're gonna do that..I'll pretend to believe you!lol!
