"Bright light, bright light..."
80's, 80's...
Bahhhhhhhhhh Gremlins. Used to give me the heeby jeebies.
Pooka I remember having a light bright when I was 5 or younger. It is more 1980s. I loved that thing.
Anyone remember tinkertoys and Lincoln logs? I was surprised to see them in toy stores.
I think I still have my one from when I was a kid. I can't remember, though.
Lite Brites rock... except when you're stumbling to the bathroom in the middle of the night to pee and impale your foot on one of those little colored pegs. :)
^^LOL lots of toys like that. Action figures (esp Gi-Joes with backpacks and guns) Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, jaxs, muscles, Thomas trains, micro machines.
The worse have to be micro machines and hot wheels, they dig right in.
I used to love Lite Brite. And my Easy Bake Oven, Barbie Townhouse and the best of all...
Spirograph!!!!
Anyone remember that one?
I remember it! Also my rubix cube, and my glowing slinky. All the cool girls had the Barbie Fashion Designer thingy!Quote:

Anyone play Chinese checkers, and stick the marbles in thier nose! How about Play-dough! I could make some awesome fake boogers!
HaHaHaHa! Never did that, but a few years ago, I stuck a skittle in my nose trying to make my daughter laugh and it got stuck!!Quote:

That movie scared the piss out of my sons when I let them see it when they were little. Boy was their mom pissed at me!Quote:

Me, my rubik's cube and my jar of rubber cement...good times!
I was wandering the toy aisle at Walmart the other day and I realized that they toys look kinda shitty. I was looking at the Tranformers they have out now and it was sad. They neutered my childhood favorites. It used to be you could choke or impale yourself to death with any of them. Now they all look so... friendly.
Toys without small sharp parts do not support Darwinism.
teehee...Lite brite has been around since the 1960's, sweetie. But yeah, they are fun aren't they?Quote:

Dayyyyyyyum, they still make these?
I got my first LB for Christmas in like 1977 or so. Awesome toy, but there were two things that I didn't like about them.
1. The rows of pegs had to be placed in a hexagonal pattern. You couldn't make a straight up or down line.
2. Once you poked a peg through the paper, that hole was always there. I wish they'd have made some opaque black pegs. Then I could have used my LB for a scoreboard.
And this would have made a cool Christmas gift idea for my niece, if only she weren't only two.
:-\
And much like anything else I enjoyed as a kid, there's now an online version:

We should all make something and take screen captures of our creations!
:D
Toy makers make the 90's toys I played with now too as re-makes.Like strawberry shortcake, cabbage patch dolls,my little ponys etc.
I used to love star brite and the unicorn.I used to also like jem dolls, barbies, teddy ruxbin,glow-worms,slinkies,play-doh
I also used to have a grimlin doll.they were so cute.
Done! ;D

Damn that was kinda fun. Even if the resolution is awful and my color options were limited. I mean with those magenta pegs the poor gal looks like she spent too much time in the tanning bed.
^ haha
I was never really a fan of lite brite as a kid...i think because my sister had one and never let me play with it? lol
I hated when my mom would make me clean up all the little pieces of black paper afterwards...
i had a lite bright. and the jem dolls ring a bell too. 80's toys were cool, but i missed out on video games as a kid. dang parents!
How about all the bits of black paper and paper dust that fell inside and later you could smell it getting all hot hhehehe. That's when toys were fun! When they were fire hazards!
Haha. I'm sorry - you are right, it was an 80's toy, but unfortanutely this Pooka wasn't around until the 90's unless you count those two wee little years I lived in the 80's so for *me* it was a 90's toy, haha. Thought that probably is why I got mine at a garage sale back then. I've made some really great creations so far. Now when custies ask me what I do in my spare time for fun I'm gonna add to my already dorky list of reading, writing, drawing, being a general nerd, playing with my light bright....haha.
OMG!! Pooka your making me feel old!! Your only 18?!?!?!?!?! AHHHHHHH!!! Ahaha.. I had a light bright in 1988.. I remember it rather well lol... I got in trouble because I found it before xmas and opend the already wrapped gift and played with it.. Oops...
