Stripperwear: The Trends
Ok I noticed a little something on my multiple trips to Vegas. There's always a new trend in Stripperwear by season.
Spring/Summer '06: leg warmers
Fall/ Winter '06-'07?: bustiers ( I don't know how these girls take these off so easily)
Do you see these trends? Can you spot any more?

*siggy police*....could you make it smaller? Thanks!
Bustiers haven't made it out here yet. I mean, not in full force. But then we still have girls wearing leg warmers. You live in the stripper mecca, so you see the trends first.

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
You know what? I think this is a great idea for a thread! Styles do change in this business and it's nice to keep up with what those in big cities are doing.

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
I'm getting alot of business for the zip front corsets lately I notice leg warmers have JUST gotten really popular in my Phx club. I think it just takes alot longer for stripper wear trends to make it this way. But uh, I've been wearing bustiers for over 2 years - where have these 'trendy' chics been? ;D

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
I better get me a corset now so I can be ahead of the game!

Sorry about the siggy, lol.
And whats up with the clear platform shoes? Its like part of the 'stripper uniform' but really, are they necessary? I bought a pair and I can barely dance in them. I'm such an old school dancer I guess. I have the NYC "gown club rules" beaten into my head. Long dresses, clothes toe, no platform shoes. I tried this look in Vegas recently and, believe it or not, so many girls were looking at me. Some were like what is she wearing and some were like wow, you look great! Even better, I stood out as classy, which probably is why I got the white collar guys that buy hours and not dances. Now I know why NYC has these rules. If you dress cheap, you may attract cheap. I love the bustier look, but I dont think its practical for our business. And the leg warmers, doesn't make sense to me unless you're trying to be artistic or something like that. But hey, whatever works for us right?

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
corsets have been in full force all year long at my club. we have at least 4 girls a night wearing them
-
Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
OMG leg warmers ATTACKED san diego!!! lol
AT LEAST 5 girls a night wear them... even the waitresses they ARE cute.. but I can't wear them... I need nothing on my legs to climb the pole....

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
i've noticed a growing number of girls (here in fl) wearing those 1 peice scarfs. do you all know what i'm talking about? it's like a really long peice of fabric that you can wear a bunch of different ways and make it into a kind of one peice. personaly, i tried one out and couldn't get the damned thing to stay on my ass. plus, my club doesn't allow them because the owner thinks they look tacky.

OMG! I remember seeing this on one Vegas girl. It look like a stringy one piece bathing suit. It looked hot! But then again, whats the point of stripping when basically all your clothes are off anyway. I'm so old school...:-\

^ Fix your siggy!!! arrrrrgh!!!

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
Hehe. Those scarf things DO look tacky ;D
Pretty much everyone at my club still wears their boring-ass bikinis with the scrunchy butts. I do SO get tired of seeing that ::) Now some of them are just wearing leg warmers with their tired boring bikinis. I really wish more strippers would get into their costuming a little more. I'm sure if I get bored seeing the same damn bikini uniforms parading around, the customers must too :-/
I'm with ya kiki. I've always thought it was more seductive for the stripper to actually *gasp* take stuff off. I mean, isn't THAT why we're called strippers in the first place???

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
Yea, at my club the girls are starting to ween off of the legwarmers (THANK GOODNESS) Lately the trend in my club is girls wearing Lilac. I think it's such a beautiful color..

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
Remember the long robes from around 2000, 2001? They had one or two hooks in the front, and flowed like gowns, often with an Asian design motif! I just loved them, they especially looked elegant on tall girls. But almost EVERY dance had one of those robes, so I never bought one.
A classic...the slingshot bikini and romper. I had a white and a blue, loved em!!
There were lots of shiny, skintight snakeskin like dresses from the late 90's, always in bright colors......
The chaps-look had a run for a while, but I guess the girls figured out what a pain they were to take on and off.....
Schoolgirl...now that's forever, but there have been sooo many variations. The last few years I saw more pink/black and yellow/black patterns compared to the classic red plaid skirt/white shirt.
Rhinestones? Some clubs are just saturated in them! They always caught on guys or in my hair. They weren't my fave.
Hehehe, strippers just run these trends to the ground!

OMG!!! I just threw a bunch of those away! LMAO That was a quick trend up here. These dresses were practically new when I got rid of them. I donated them to salvation army. Now you know if you see a purple, snakeskin print, sequined dress on a needy person, you know where it came from. lol

Haha, you know what's weird- that's what I wear, always, and I'm like the only one in vancouver. Scrunchy-butt hasn't made it up here. We're very slow, lol. Spandex and sequins still rule supreme here.

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
i wear legwarmers when i'm dressed in regular clothing on the street. they're not good for polework at all so i don't wear them at the club. i like the clear lucite platforms because...i just like them.
floaty tops or bikinis with floral prints are popular at my club.

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
i think leg warmers hit NJ last fall. I was wearing them all winter when I was shivering in the club or working a dayshift after a night shift and too lazy to shave my legs. THey were cute but they sure get old. Now I'm in NY and I have yet to spot any really stand out trends. I notice a lot of super bright colors, which I don't know if I will ever be into.
-
Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
Well scarlett if you're the only one in the club wearing it that's different. It's not boring then ;D I just feel like the AZ stripper bikini uniform needs to be replaced, or at least varied, or something
Heh. For a while I was selling clothes in the club here, and it was ok, but most the girls would barely look at my stuff because I didn't have their uniform bikinis. I thought surely they were as bored with them as me and would like to try new stuff. Nope! They just wanted their same old uniforms. (I call them uniforms because that's really what it looks like. Buncha half naked girls running around in the same damn outfit only different colors.)
I do LOVE anything with really bright colors!! It stands out and makes me look like a giant walking neon stripper sign ;D

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
Around here it seems to be knee high socks. Most with some kind of skull print or stripes. On some girls they look cute but most of the girls here wear print or stripe socks with a plaid school girl skirt. The mis-matched look seems to be another trend, which I personally hate.
What happened to looking glamorous at work?

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
I actually love the scrunchy butt bikini bottoms....:shhh: My ass looks fabulous in them; mine are cute though, I get the ones with nice belts and pair them with a fun top.
I love the clear shoes too mina. I think it has to do with how cool they look with the different colored lights going through them.

Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
Remember belly chains and rinestone chokers???lmao I'm sure this trend is still going on somewhere in this country. Boy that was almost ten years ago! I'm getting old for this business...
-
Re: Stripperwear: The Trends
^^That's what every AZ stripper does with those scrunchy butt bikinis. Some have belts, some have ties, some have bows. The tops are somewhat varied, but still bikini tops. It all looks the same to me and I am POSITIVE the custies can't tell the difference. Everyone's ass looks good in a scrunchy butt - that's not the point. It's just that EVERYONE wears them and it bores the hell out of me. Hell, even the "goth" girls wear them, just in black. I don't understand it. Most girls claim they wanna stand out, yet they wear the same thing everyone else is wearing.
But then, I'm not really bitching. This just makes it that much easier for me to stand out from the crowd ;D
Edit since Kiki beat me to the punch: Yeah I remember belly chains and chokers. Sometimes I miss wearing them and wanna wear them again!! It was 10 years ago...
