A few questions.. and a few about waitressing?
Hi everyone, I am new to the boards and so happy I found them!
Im 24, 5'9, blonde hair, hourglass figure... 34 c/d boobs(implants) i actually was referred here from someone on implantinfo.com website.
Anyways, 2 weeks ago i went to 3 clubs to apply as a waitress. Im in philly. I dont know if anyone here is local but i went to club risque, crazy horse too, and delilahs. delilahs actually was pushing me to dance. I have never danced before. I only filled out the application for the waitress position though.
The manager told me the process is alot longer for waitressing than it is for dancers.
At risque I filled out an application but the hiring manager was not in.
Anyways, a friend of mine in florida does waitressing a strip club and makes really nice money. Im not shy and Im good at flirting. I dont know if im outgoing enough and confident enough to be a dancer though.
I know I have the body and I workin on getting real flexible but I just dont know if its something I can do. Id rather start as a waiteress and see how I like it anmd maybe then one day switch over to dancing.
Any advice for me. Can i call back either of those places and check the status of my application? Or doesnt it work like that? Thanks for any help. I appreciate it.

It sounds to me like you want to be a dancer.....(: That being said, waitressing is a good way to introduce yourself to the business and to get a chance to see first hand if it is something you would be comfortable doing. I went that route, and am actually very glad I did because I knew fully well what I was getting myself into and what to expect. I'm not sure what the hiring practices are in Philly though-if I were you I would call the club back and find out when the hiring manager will be in and go and talk to him in person.

A friend of mine always used to tell me there are only 2 kinds of girls in the world.
Those who dont have a problem with stripping/strippers...which means they could do the job
Those who dislike stripping/strippers....meaning they will never do the job
Which one are you?

Oh and might I add that in my experience, the waitresses in strip clubs get harrassed just as much if not more than the actual dancers just with way less money.

Emily is in Philly. PM her :)
Re: A few questions.. and a few about waitressing?
I just got a job at Club Risque 2 weeks ago as a dancer. It's my first time dancing and I'm doing well so far. I found it was best just to research it, see what other girls, be confident and act like I've been doing it my whole life and just take the plunge. I thought about trying to be a shot girl or something first as well to get into the environment to see if I wanted to do dancing, but everyone on here definatly let me know that the money was in dancing, plus it was a lot harder to get the other types of jobs, whereas with dancer, they will hire you on the spot and you can start right away, as many hours as you want.
I'd suggest that you do what I did. Spend a few days reading as much information on here, asking questions or concerns you have for dancing and think about it. Visit some clubs as a customer (remember that at some like Risque you have to be escorted by a male) and decide if you woukld be comfortable doing the job. Then just go out and audition. If you are nervous and would much prefer working in the environment first, then I'd say follow up on those applications and let them know that you are interested. I don't know if telling them that you might be interested in moving to dancer would help or hurt you, I still don't know the industry that well, like I said, it's only been 2 weeks for me! Good luck! Let me know if you get hired at Risque! I go by Piper.
Re: A few questions.. and a few about waitressing?
well i started off as a waitress too in a club too. its not so bad. i made more money waitressing there than i did at other stupid resturants.
i think tis a good a way to get a feel for dancing. thats the reason why i wanted to start waitressing in a strip club, anyways. after seeing what the girls do, you realize its not so bad. and its very do-able.
im not too sure aboput the application thingy, i got hired on the spot. but i dont think it wud hurt to call. hehe and yeah they always pressure you to be a dancer :)
but when i worked as a waitress, tons of guys who ask me when i was going on stage, and would get disapointed when i just said i was a waitress. plus i saw how much more money the dancers were getting, and decided i had to do it! lol.
goodluck!!! :) i hope i helped a bit!
Re: A few questions.. and a few about waitressing?
I work at crazy horse in philly and from what i understand the waitressing staff is never "happy" with what they make. But i think that "happy" is because they see the dancers making bank and they aren't. So, if you are making your way into the industry, start out waitressing, but you will take abuse for a lot less money than you *could* be making.
good luck!
