I am almost 25 and realllly need to grow up. I live at home and am planning on moving out soon (thanks to my new income as a dancer!) but one of my problems is that I have been paid cash/under the table for years. I have never had a full-time "real job." I have always worked for myself. My "real" job is a dog groomer and pet-sitter and I have never reported any earnings from that job. The problem with the grooming is that I work for someone else who has a small business and she doesn't claim me as an employee so I can't report my earnings with her. I do however groom my own clients using her facilities, so I could report that, plus the petsitting. Now that I dance, I can report that to. I was wondering how you go about filling out taxes and how specific I have to be about where the money I am making is coming from. Could I say that it is all from my own dog grooming/pet sitting business or do I need to mention that in addition to that, I dance at nights? I am planning on starting my own dog grooming business as well, and I need a loan to get started. I'm buying a truck and grooming trailer so I can go to people's houses and groom their dogs, rather then work for someone elses shop or have my own stational shop. I plan on continuing stripping as long as I have the time and need the money. I would only stop if my "real" business got way too busy and I couldn't handle dancing a few nights a week. Will I need proof of my earnings when I get my loan? And if I do, how do I explain that most of my income is from dancing, not dog grooming? This is so comlicated for me. I usually get my dad to help me with this stuff but I really want to do this on my own, plus my dad knowing about me dancing is NOT an option... Thank you so much! I feel so immature not even knowing HOW to file taxes at age 24...
