i'm curious to know how other girls feel about this. there's a current trend in making money rain on the girls on stage. i'm sure you know what i'm talking about, but i'll explain just incase. "making it rain" is when a customer throws multiple bills (usualy a lot of them) into the air infront of or above the dancer so that the money "rains" all around her. personaly, i don't give a damn. the main bouncer at our club cleans the ones up after the stage show (if someone does that) and gives it to the dancer int he dressing room. so, the girl doesn't "have to" pick them all up herself, although she can. i don't mind when guys do it, because it's typicaly a decent ammount of money. i had a guy "rain" 50 ones each song once. some girls said "you shouldn't take that money".
scuse me what?
sorry but, i don't care how (within reason) 150 bucks get to the stage, i'm taking it. now, i understand when the guy balls up dollar bills and throws them AT the dancer like paper balls in middle school. i've seen that happen and i think it's rude as hell.
anyway, i got into "trouble" with another dancer over this. a guy who was sitting with her (but had been watching me a bit) called me over while she was on stage. he tipped me really well and asked me to rain a large ammount of 5s on her. so... i go up to the stage and do it. if *i* had been the one on stage i would have made some cute *gasp* face, smiled, and been done with it. not what happened. she gave me the pissed off "eye roll". when i went into the dressing room before the 2-4-1 special she was in full on rant with another girl about how rude it was.
*sigh*
i told her i was sorry and that i'd refuse if asked to do it again. then i said "to be clear, if anyone asks you girls to rain a stack of 5 dollar bills on me, you go right ahead" and she went on about how i shouldnt let people "disrespect" me. .......i think we get disrespected in far worse ways than having money tossed onto us. many of the girls in the back agreed with the other dancer though. i even saw one of said dancers refuse a 20 because the guy put it on the tip rail rather than in her garter. WTF? maybe he was just a bit shy or didnt want to have to make her "work for it". i know how important it is to respect ourselves, but to me it's more about personal boundries than those sort of things. some of the girls who think this is rude are the same girls that will "put up" with really handsy custys for more money and then bitch about how dirty it made them feel. ??? i think that's 10 times worse.
anyway, what are your opinions on what's rude and what isn't as far as stage tipping goes?
