Of those detained, apparently only about 5% actually engaged in identity theft, although that percentage might rise under further investigation. What I would like to know, is why didn't they arrest some of the Swift & Co. executives as accesories to identity theft? I believe such arrests would be far more effective in sending a needed message to the corporate world!
If I were one of the victims of ID theft, in this case, I'd find an attorney and file a civil lawsuit against Swift & Co. for monetary damages, since the corporation is the "deep pocket" here.
Re: "Swift & Co." identity theft raids.
It all might happen so far.
The mere fact Swift tried to block the raids in court de facto shows they knew they were hiring illegals. It is going to get interesting...
and I am glad ICE is finally doing something.
(I read someplace that a couple of identity theft victims were harassed by law enforcement for what a couple of illegals did in their name which is what spawned the raid.)
Re: "Swift & Co." identity theft raids.
I thought it was extremelly funny! I used to live in Worthington, MN (I dont like to admit that) and they have been raided 3 other times! What I thought was stupid, is the fact they acted like it had never happened before. The other one in MN has been raided before as well.
