Too cool! How do you go about selling your screen play anyway? Is it a their people get with your people type thing? Sounds like your story is very unusual and different from what has been done before.
I know a guy who knows a guy. Okay, that's waaaay oversimplified. About a month ago I ran into a friend of mine I hadn't seen in about 2 years. Since the last time I had seen him he'd acted in a few movies and used the money to start his own production studio through which he's made an assload of industry contacts. Some of those are at Universal. I pitched him a few ideas, only one of which was mostly a horror flick, and he talked it up to a producer who's worked with Universal. The producer is hot for the idea and wants the script.
Awesome and thanks for the answer!!! It's always so interesting to read how different businesses really work. Best of luck and don't forget us common folks when you're wealthy and famous:D
I'm never going to not be one of the "common folks." I just intend to use the skills I've got to put embarrassingly large amounts of money into my bank account, that's all. Hell, I don't even want to be famous -- celebrity seems like a gigantic pain in the ass.
I do admire your goal and hope you achieve it:) I myself have always wanted to be a reclusive billionaire but that's not too likely to happen.:D I've heard a lot of famous people who said they wished they could just go have a beer afterwork without being mobbed. The money is wonderful; the fame not so much.
Wow! A boy from my hometown makes good! Congrats to you sweety, I love to hear good news like this!
Good luck in everything, and even though I have to hide under the covers when I watch scary movies, I would still peek at yours! ;)

Congrats
Thank you. :)
Whatever you do, please include in your contract that Miss Horrorfest 2006 will not be casted in the movie production. I was sourly disappointed in their selection.
I don't know how much of a say I get in casting the flick; that's probably for the better, anyway, since I wouldn't know what to look for. I'll let the casting director handle that. :)
So here it is 31 December 2006, and...
It's done. 100 pages of action/horror flick the likes of which you have NEVER seen before. Yes, the blood flies, the titties jiggle and the monsters are bad. And then it gets even more scary. And then it gets weird and scary. And gets scarier some more just in case somebody forgot to have a heart attack.
Yay! I'm excited, but you will have a tough audience.... I'm not easily scared! And I'm a total horror junkie :)
congratz! all these cool things i missed on sw when i went away..
when you come up with a title, let us know. im intrigued. that is, if you havent already...
is there a bit of tarantino 'hostel' boobie action? is this what i am to believe?
Wow, just because they ask for your script doesnt mean they are going to buy it. Trust me, I know alot about that Biz. If they read your script then like it they might make an offer, but they could just buy the rights to your script but never film it (which in my opinion rocks). So, don't get your hopes up just yet. It's cool that they want to see your script. But it doesnt mean an automatic sell, and be sure to have more ideas. If you meet with someone they may ask you if you have any other ideas too.
I want to get into directing and writing my own scripts. I can write them, I just want to direct too :P A lifetime dream. So, I have read up alot. I have a book, I gotta find it, that would probably amp up your script. It should be between 120 and 150 pages long.
^^ Sounds hella alot like bragging though. Do you have a synopsis. List of characters/scenes. Do you have it written in the proper format without too much talking. Movies are visual.
Please tell me how it went. If its your first script you probably wont make hella money.

Why even resurrect this thread
I wish people would take these things into consideration before throwing something back on the board
Wow! Blast from the past! Just about everyone in this thread is long gone, makes me wonder what they've been doing.
