Who has worked in both?
I prefer Vegas over NYC b/c everyone is spending CASH, not so much CC's and clubs are always busy. House fees are also extremely lower in Vegas too.
I've never danced in Vegas, only been to a couple of clubs there. Hmm... I'd have to agree with Kikiwiki on the cash and low house fee things...
But the CONTACT level in Vegas is WAY WAY higher. I couldn't believe what girls were doing for $20, and most of the gals I ran into were prositutes. (Not all of them)- so I don't know if I could deal with that sort of competition. And, I'm not trying to say that NYC isn't bad, I just felt is was worse out there.
I've been at PEC for 3.5 years now, and worked in and out of these clubs for many years longer...
I think I'd give Vegas a shot. It's not expensive to live there, and the cash thing is key.
NYC is expensive as all hell....the majority of your $ is going to living expenses, cabs, food.... so expensive here!
The possiblities of making more money are in NYC in my opinion. The house fees are out of this world high espicially at PEC.
well, the $$$ potential is at both but I think it is easier here for sure, the hustle is way different in Vegas. Here, you can sit on your butt and chit chat while you sip champagne and make money (usually funny money) and in Vegas you have to WORK!!! No sitting on your butt and being a princess out there! LOL!!
And as far as house fees go, i dont think PEC house fees are that extraordinarly high. i think it is comparable to other clubs, but i have only worked at pec scores and vip, so they were all the same house fees.
Not necessarily. Fear of high contact kept me from working in Vegas for a while, but the club I was at was fairly low contact.
I couldn't believe what the girls at PEC were doing either, they just charged more. I guess because NYC is that much more expensive. ::)
For visiting, Vegas is much, much better, because cheap hotel rooms are very easy to come by. As long as you don't gamble away your money, you'll be okay.
Both are high-hustle atmospheres and at both you could just break even and barely make fees or make $1K+ in a shift.
what are the house fees at pec? are the 3 clubs kinda all the same or is one more preferable? I haven't been to any of those...
Not all Vegas clubs are high contact. Suprisingly, Glitter Gulch (closed for remodeling) is a low contact club among others.
Each club is different, as are the girls. It is completely up to YOU how you work your sales and how you determine your boundaries. Despite what other girls do, or what certain custys demand YOU CAN STILL MAKE $$$$!!!!
vegas is the best place to work. little contact and lots of money if you have a good hustle/mouthpiece-you shouldnt have a problem getting your 1k a night. lots of pretty girls but if you have the attitude that your the best, you will be. it's the money making season right now.
I think overall, we'll agree, that in both NYC and Vegas, it's all about the attitude you have, the hustle, and what your limitations are.
Because yes- NYC is NOT all that clean, it's (unfortunately) up to how far an entertainer will go- and I'm sure this is true in Vegas.
I just felt that in Vegas it was clearly in the open, all the extras--- and much more in your face. In NYC, I feel it's behind closed doors.
Either way, EWWW!!! to extras! Yuck. I'm disgusted... and finished talking about this. Icky!
I agree;) ;) ;)
sorry--funny money?
I like funny money
Funny Money sucks because they have very high make-believe handling fees on the funny money. In a normal club you'll get your full tip. The club absorbs the minimal processing cost. At gentlemen's clubs they pretend to need 10% extra from the custie and 10-30% from us when we cash in the bullshit money. Your $400 sale just became $280-$360 sale. All because the club is greedy.>:(
OPTIMIST is right.Funny money is a bad deal for both custy & dancer because of the "handling" charge the clubs tack on. Cash is best.
I've never worked in Vegas either just NY but back in 1999 when mayor Juliani was closing down strip clubs I did some modeling jobs in LA and went to Vegas since it was so close to visit 2 girls who went to Crazy Horse to work, I visit my friends and met the managers who gave me a referral to get my license to work that night but when I saw how hard the girls worked for $20 which was what I did in the private rooms for $600 I was completely turned off and came back to NY where I was dancing in bra and shorts and was still making $1000 + per night. The guys didn't care if we weren't showing our tits, we still made money. Oh! how I wish the economy was good now as it was then... However the 2 girls stayed in Vegas and got apartments there and said goodbye to NY who owed a lot of dancers money as Vip club stiffed a lot of girls. Scores still owe me $1,500 till today and they were the ones that set the standard for high house fees and also the reason why everyone got audited by the IRS including waitresses, managers, host and bartenders. You can still make your money clean and sleep well while others make thousands dirty. It's your choice... your lives... take care.
the club has to make money off of you or they would not have you there. Of course the clubs are greedy.
making a profit and exorting from the people that work for you are two totally different things!
I can't believe you are defending strip club greed!
It's bad enough to take advantage of the customers with the silly funny money fees (I call it the Unprepared Tax), but then to take from us just because they can? Many of them don't have ATMs for this reason. Then they have the dancers where they want them because it's either turn it in for this riduclous fee again or make nothing. Gosh how do they make money without dancers? I'm sure overpriced drinks and cover fees don't make them much profit ::)
Why would you like funny money more than cash? Do you really prefer $90 over $100?
Ok--funny money being "lap dance cards" or something?
lap dance card? no, it's just a voucher that has no real value outside the club. They are a way for the club to give you a receipt for what they owe you, based on what they ran his credit card for. But they are a rip off, so we don't like them.
Interesting, never seen that yet--I guess I've been lucky to work in a place where it really has just been cash only--
But the times I've worked in other places, sold rooms, they just give you yr cut in cash at the end of the night? Is that bad? Better for them in some way I imagine.
When a guy uses his credit card to pay for dances or a VIP, he gets charged a fee, its 10-20%. Then the dancer is given some kind of "funny money" like fake money, or chips, that have no value outside the club. When you go to cash this funny money in for real money, you are also charged a fee, so if the VIP was %100, you will onyl get $90. Thats why funny money is a rip off.
Ive also worked places that pay you at the end of the night. I dont think it is a bad thing, but I was always scared of getting ripped off, so I kept close track of how many dances/VIP rooms I did, so I knew exactly what i was owed at the end of the night.
both places are good....you need to concider the time of year your going to be working there. in Jan Vegas will be picking up after the slow Holidays season has past......i don't know how NYC is doing right now it's been awhile since I've been there ,im sure you can make good money there ,in both places theres good potentiel.
I was more consistent in NY. But both my best and worst nights were in Vegas... I'd rather stick with consistency vs the occasional jackpot...
